I have several Hikvision cameras for exterior monitoring around the property. They are the typical “IR” night vision with the gray screen of the ir cutoff filter. This camera has a superb low light capability and can view and record color video with just a small amount of light. The new firmware allows web viewing and configuration using most browsers including the Mac Safari which doesn’t work on the older versions.This is a nice camera with many features at an affordable price. I prefer the 2.8mm wide angle, but you can get it in 4mm or 6mm as well for about the same price. Get it with the optional built-in mic and install a micro SD card for local recording.

This is a review for the DT2A404, which is an "OEM" version of the HIKVISION 2DE-2A404IW-DE3 IP camera. This camera is built by HIKVISION and then custom firmware is loaded to make it a "different" product from the one sold by HIKVISION directly. Therefore, the physical camera is the same between HIKVISION and OEM manufacturers for this particular model, but the firmware is slightly altered. You cannot upgrade the firmware to the official HIKVISION firmware, so what you get is predictably limited support. The marketing (aka product title) is misleading because unless you know that "OEM" means everything said above, you'd never know this is a "knock-off" product.Otherwise, the camera itself has a GREAT picture and works AWESOME as an IP camera (specifically on a manufacturing shop floor watching laser beds). Super high quality build! It was also very inexpensive, which is really important given the excellent quality. Would I buy it again? No, because it's not an actual HIKVISION camera.I would not buy THIS product again, but I would absolutely buy another HIKVISION camera of this model!

There is nothing that compares at the moment. I truly enjoy having these cameras protect my home.

Hard coded subnet and IP, impossible procedure unlock a.locked device, picture could.not be rotated, loud motors. PTZ should.not be a this difficult to.just setup.

Great product!

This product pretty much worked out-of-box, though you have to play the usual initial network tricks. NTP actually works. IPv6 appears to work (not yet extensively tested). The instruction sheet was readable although you'll need a magnifying glass in places. The only caveat is the anti-virus checkers don't like the browser plug-in (I have to bypass the AV).Initial impressions are good.
