General Electric WR55X10942 Refrigerator Main Control Board Assembly

So far so good for my dad's side-by-side GE fridge (model GSH25ISXJSS). Will update if situation changes.

Refrigerator front panel where ice and water is dispensed from was no longer working. Shorty after the refrigerator quit cooling. Found a youtube video on how to diagnose refrigerator main control panel located on back of the refrigerator and determined with a multimeter that control panel was no longer working. This part fixed my refrigerator took less than 20 min to replace. Happy so far!

Our son helped us by trouble shooting the issue with our refrigerator. We actually just needed capacitors. The capacitors on our current panel were expanded (puffy looking). After ordering, we realized we might not have the tools to remove the old capacitors from the Control Board. Fortunately we ordered this Control board at the same day. My son used YouTube and/or the manual to install. Very easy! The hardest part was pulling the fridge out, and pushing it back in. The cost was $200 for the Control Board, which was much less than having a service person come out, and then padding extra money on the price of their part/s. It is an easy, do-it-yourself job!

The item works like a charm! I loss power last night and the side by side returned with the clicking noise and no longer cooling. I install the control board, its now working like a charm. The one down side about the board was there was no grounding wire as pictured, taking the grounding wire off of the old board was not easy. Ladies you can repair your refrigerator yourself, I was done in 45 minutes. The repair man that came to do the repair stated the part was no longer being made for this model.

Very pleased that I was able to use this board, purchased from Amazon and installed May 2023, in my side-by-side, GE profile, Arctica refrigerator. I have now had to fix the fan in the freezer compartment, replace the icemaker twice, and now the board. It would cost a few thousand dollars to replace the whole appliance, so I have had to get it to limp along with these bits and the invaluable help of the YouTube videos people post. I don’t know how I did anything before YouTube. And I also had to deal with the easy fix of the ice dispenser only putting out crushed ice. Another great solution. So like all my other appliances by GE and LG in my kitchen and laundry, I have saved thousands thanks to YouTube and Amazon two day deliveries. Why don’t they just make the units a little bit better in the first place?Because of the extra exterior metal on my stainless steel model, it was a little tricky to pull extra screws off, and it’s been out the side panel, the left side panel is looking at the fridge from the front, in order to get things to clear the trim in the back . This board fit perfectly, and the wires attached perfectly, though it did look slightly different than the original board and I believe the part number was slightly different. This is likely an updated part from GE.I am writing this review in February 2024 and I hope the board keeps working for years to come.

Soon after placing my order I was contacted by Chris at Natural Gas Appliances Company to double check my information to insure I received the correct part. I received my part 24 hours after placing the order. I installed it and the refrigerator is working great. I was concerned some other malfunction may have caused the failure so I contacted Chris with my concern. He was extremely helpful with my questions and very fast in responding. It couldn’t have turned out better !! I highly recommend Natural Gas Appliance Company and ask for Chris👍👍
