X-Force By Benjamin Percy Vol. 1

I was not sure to begin with but I really like this version of X-Force. This time they are not just the black ops team sent in to take out the target. This version of the team has a direction a great mix of brains, brawn and powers.I like the Mutant CIA approach to the book. An assassination attempt has forced the mutants to up their game but win the shadow games as well.I like the story and the artwork. A couple of characters that did surprise me, but rely shouldn't have were Jean and Beast. Thinking about it Jean has always had a temper held in check by Scott so seeing, and her being on the Quiet Council make her perfectly place for the team. How better then one of the worlds most powerful telepaths and telekinetics is perfect of both intelligence gathering and destruction. Beast has always on thus dimension been the conscience of the X-MEN, but remember the Dark Beast was the same man from another dimension. Is it so hard to believe Beast could become more clinical and calculating?

What a romp this story was with thrust and counter thrust!Mutants aren’t perfect but, even when they try to live in peace with world, the worst of humanity refuses to let it happen.Great story! So very true to human history over millennia.
