Bigger & better than the old version
The old version of this tool had an undercut beneath the carbide insert which gave an inherent weakness. Mine eventually bent out of all usable shape. This new version omits that. I had the 1212-2 before, and that was also too weak for many jobs - if you’re dithering this, the 1212-3 is better - the inserts much bigger, of course but they also provide greater clearance and reduced chance of snatching. Used it just the once so far but much more impressed with this new design, and would recommend any -2 users to swap.
