good brace for the money
I read all the reviews before buying this brace. I have an older mueller brace that works great so when it came time to replace it this I went with mueller again. I am 5ft 10 185 lbs. The large size fits perfectly and the support is just what my knee needs. The hinges allow for more natural movement and it is comfortable to wear, and stays put. There were no defects out of the box. Breaking it in now and will report back on how it wears. I am very happy with this brace

Comfortable and supportive. Incredible value for the price.
This brace is really amazing. I managed to do a number on my knee, with a full-thickness root tear of the posterior horn medial meniscus , sprain of my medial collateral ligament and topping off with a medial tibial plateau subchondral fracture. Yeow! To stabilize this mess so I could at least walk around while also doing RICE therapy and a very reduced schedule, I bought this brace. With this in place as part of my recovery plan my pain went from an ARGHHHHH to an OUCH to a THAT DOESN'T FEEL VERY GOOD to a MAN THIS STINKS to a THIS IS A LITTLE ANNOYING. Now after a few weeks on the verge of HEY! NO BIGGIE! This brace holds everything where it should be and provides actual stability coupled with a high confidence that I have alot of protection against exacerbating the injury. Lightweight, comfortable and pretty awesome looking, this roboknee is what I would definitely recommend to anybody with my type of injury. Easy to clean and very resistant to odors, too.

The Real Deal
I've had surgery to fix a torn meniscus and a torn patella ligament. My knee will heal up over 2-3 months then about once a year I'll do something and it will pop, and I'm back to ground zero. Wearing a brace helps a lot if I have it on. I get real excited buying other sleeves, hoses, braces and gadgets only to after a day or two realize they cause just about as much good as bad. So I stop wearing them. I literally have a $500 + collection. This brace is different. I measured just as box calls for. It's a little tough to get on and off, but does not slip. It's the only brace that after weeks of wearing, I'm still able to tolerate. Bonus...it provides the best support and pain relief too. Cuts off circulation only a little after 30 minutes or more of sitting, but while moving, and shorter spurts of sitting, it's all plus plus. Bought another just to wear more slowly between the two, but at this price, I could go through literally dozens of them and not be approaching a custom brace.I should also say that I figured out that a closed patella hole provided more pain relief for me and that the position of that little support donut being only on the bottom, not all around the kneecap, also made a big difference for me.

Does a great job, but you may not want to wear it all day
This brace did a nice job providing support and definitely relieved discomfort. I would have given it 5 stars except for two issues the crop up if you wear this all day. First, it can slip a bit. Not horribly, but after a full day of use, it will slip down (less than an inch) and may need to be readjusted. Again, this is after many hours of use. Second is that the end of the hinges can rub against the leg creating some tenderness. This only occurs after wearing it all day. The tenderness goes away immediately if you take the brace off. It is just that after hours of use, you can feel the ends of the hinge rubbing against your leg. But the support provided is noticeable. Once you take the brace off you can immediately feel the lack of support. The hinge provides very nice lateral support, much better than a simple compression brace. It will also provide some cushioning of the joint.

I tried over a dozen, this was my favorite. Do yourself a favor, do NOT get a knee brace at your local drug store
After a knee ligament injury, I've basically been wearing this as a prosthetic for over a year. I tried several hinged & non-hinged models before settling on this one. It's been a life saver.I wore it every day for a year, and continue to wear it a few times a week... and it's holding up terrific. The silly logo thing on the bottom peeled off pretty quickly. But it still looks attractive, and slim enough to pass for a sports brace. And it breathes well, it only bothers me on very hot days, and only after several hours. The hinges come out, and be warned they're a little difficult to put back in. The only time I would recommend taking them out is if you're laying down or sleeping in it. I've only taken them out 2 or 3 times, once to add some WD40. They're holding up great, low maintenance. The sizing guide is accurate in my opinion - you don't want it loose, or it won't do it's job. If you are having mobility issues, anything that slides on is going to be a bit difficult. But avoid the temptation to get the velcro strap-on kinds, they do not offer as much support. Instead, get help sliding it on and off. It's fully adjustable, put pressure where you need it, let it out where you want. My only complaints:* I wish it put more pressure around the patella, to hold it into place better. To solve this, you can wear a compression sleeve under the brace. If you're specifically looking for patella support (like post-op), and don't care about bulkiness, try the Shock Doctor.* I wish it didn't have this silly decal on bottom.* Also, I wish they put pull tabs on it, if you're having problems bending your knee sometimes you may need help getting it off. That's about it for complaints. This offers support for a lot of different injuries (patella, stabilizing ligaments, thigh, calf, etc). This is light enough and flexible enough even for a little bit of support during exercise, workouts etc (particularly for side-to-side, like basketball or some aerobics). If you just need a little bit of support, maybe try a compression sleeve instead. And if you need lots of support, you might want to check into the Shock Doctor brand instead - I really liked their products also, but even their lightest weight knee brace was a bit bulky, especially behind the leg. By contrast, you forget you're even wearing the Mueller.Whatever you decide, just do yourself a favor and avoid ACE brand or anything at your local drug store, Walmart, or Target. Those one-size brands will not offer support or compression at any of the important spots, and they won't save you money either.Good luck!
