800 WORDS: SEASON 3 - PART 2

I am seriously hooked on this show, because it aired on the PBS station in my city. However that station has stopped carrying it for some reason. So I bought this DVD because I have to know what is happening! This show is an unusual combination of humor and drama that is unlike any United States television show I know. Underneath the humor, it deals with the drama and very difficult emotions which wrack this family after the sudden loss of the main character George's wife. He and his teenage children have so much to live through, and I believe the show does a good job of portraying their emotional struggles.

We came to enjoy this series more and more. We have found that, just as with "real people," it often takes time to know how you feel about them, we came to like these people and their lives in a small New Zealand town more and more as we got into the series. We are sorry that the series came to an abrupt end with its cancellation.

The only down side is this show has been cancelled after 4 seasons, although the last season has not been released. My wife and I loved the humor and the individuality of all the characters.

As an American, I have come to love television from Australia and New Zealand. 800 Words is a wonderful show to watch for many reasons. One reason is the beautiful New Zealand scenery. The characters are very interesting and entertaining and the actors are excellent. I have read that the show ends with Series 3, Part 2. They do a great "wrap up". I urge watching the entire series!!

My husband and I both love this show. It's very funny, well-written, actors are talented, beautiful scenery, and you learn some life lessons by watching. Wonderful show. We look forward to watching it and put it in the top 10% of all movie, TV, and mini-series we've ever watched....just FANTASTIC. Thank you for making this show available to us here in the US!

Totally love this series. Did not really enjoy the fact that series three was split into two releases on DVD. The acting, to me, is enjoyable. The scenery is at times breathtaking. I want to visit New Zealand as a result of this series. I am hoping there is a series four in the works!

First saw the series on PBS in Boston (WGBH). Then, bought the DVDs and watched all episodes during the pandemic. Love the show! Wish there were more seasons.
