Plano 1404 Protector Series Four Pistol Case, X-Large, Black

Love this! What a great deal also at 19.89!!!! I looked at this and the MTM version and I chose this because if you read the inner dimensions this model is bigger even though both are advertised as large 4 gun models. This will hold 2 large sized guns on each of the two levels, but I can tell you depending on how you lay them out and the size of the guns i was absolutely able to get more than 2 guns on each level. I would say 3 to 4 guns on each level depending on the shape and size of the firearm. The case is heavy duty plastic and the foam is nice and thick and really sandwhiches the guns in place to prevent movement. The clips are secure and lock down well. I am unsure if this is the best choice for airline travel as mine are used for home storage and transportation to the range, but I'm sure it would hold up fine. There might be more secure options for locking, but would any pistol case really be that hard for someone to break into if they wanted too??? There are two layers of egg crate type foam and one smooth layer that has a perforated grid so that you can move that layer to the middle and do a custom cutout for your firearm. I would think this would however reduce it to a one level case. Meaning you could no longer store anoter layer of firearms above or below the custom fitted cutout. If I had to find one negative to say it would be that I'm not crazy about the all plastic hinge. It is full length of the case and I'm sure it will not fail, but I have an older version of this case and it had the metal hinge pin running the full length of the case instead of the plastic hinge and plastic hinge pin as well. This is not enough of a concern for me to knock a star off. I am very happy with these cases for my intended purposes and I feel it was a great deal at the price I paid for it. They are a bit large, so again pay attention to the dimensions. Also, they are not waterproof but I feel they would stay dry in damp conditions of if they accidentally got splashed as long as they are not submerged.

Ok, let me give you the skinny about this pistol/equipment case. First, it will hold four full sized pistols with 4 magazines and a few boxes of ammo . I consider 1911A1's full size pistols. And four will fit. Second, it is not TSA approved for airline travel because it's locking ability does not meet their standard. Others may say it is, but it is not. Third, It is an excellent range pistol case or to carry sensitive electronic instruments. Forth, and most importantly, IT IS NOT CHILD PROOF. As, the case have two latches. There is a place on the right side of the carry handle of the case to put a lock. Any older child, teen, or one of their visiting friends has to do is to unlatch the two yellow latches, and pull up in the left side of the case; reach inside and get a firearm(see photo). I rated this product a four because it is an inexpensive range-electronic tool case. Well worth the money. As, the molding form allows users to form fit the inside for weapons or electronic equipment by pulling apart small square sections of the middle foam pad for a professional looking recess.

This is just great! Huge, really; and so sturdy I know I can take it anywhere! The closure snaps are very strong and the inside foam is firm and adjustable. I really liked the price as well. I would say this case is totally worth anyone’s investment for protection of their valued items. (and I’m not saying gun case; but, it’s a helluva gun case;))

Serves a great purpose, exactly as described

I bought a couple of these cases in the X-Large size for fishing reels and I am pleased. It can comfortably fit 9 reels on top that are easily accessible, and I can fit potentially 9 more on the lower side if I really try to cram it. I have one for myself with 9 reels, 7 casting and 2 spinning - the handles for the spinning reels go below the first layer of foam, and one with all my kids reels in it which they share which I have at least 12 reels in, although I am buying another so they can each have their own.These do not seem to be completely waterproof, but they are somewhat water resistant and the hard case provides adequate protection for my expensive reels where I can throw them in the back of the truck and not worry about a thing. They are also much cheaper than most reel cases.

Can hold six handguns - one level can hold two 6" barreled handguns with a compact (4" or less) between them. I just would not slam it around. I also agree with other reviewers that this is not the strongest case on the market but it isn't priced like it either.

I don't usually rate stuff, but this case for $20, is the best deal EVER.
