Works beautifully
If you've never used one of these, they can be tricky to first get started with. I'd recommend purchasing an inexpensive kitchen knife and use it until you can't cut tomatoes or onions without applying force ( dull knife is dangerous ), then practice on it. Also purchase a honer ( which straightens curled edges ).Sharpen, rinse, and cut. I've been using this for a while on a set of ALDI Crofton knives which are inexpensive and this sharpens them very well.Keep your knives sharp, and I absolutely recommend this sharpener!

Sharpening helper
Wow, does thing work well. I did about 20 strokes with a dull knife on the tool and the knife had a good edge on it. Great deal for the money. Thanks.

D2 Steel
I got a new pocket knife with D2 Steel. It wasn't razor sharp and the steel is so hard I couldn't sharpen it for the life of me. It took a little while but it's sharp now. I'm satisfied with it.

I must apologise for my original post of one star
I first wrote a review just belittling this product out of the box it does feel and look cheap my intent was to send it back after first use however after a soap bath it actually was in much better shape then I originally thought I've been very rough on this thing since and honestly it has held up FAR better then I could have imagined it is definitely not made for a final edge but it will cut a new profile quickly as I said I have been very rough on this and it is getting worn but still working fine I apologise to the seller for my original review it was harsh I still stand behind the fact that a magnit will not stick to any part and it must be laminate wrapped around a plastic core but contrary to my original post it has held up and done its job amazingly concedering the price when I've warn thus one out I will buy a replacement FYI the seller has not contacted me in any way shape or form the product stood on its own forcing me to eat my words and I hate being wrong but will admit when I am

Too coarse
This is way too coarse to be called a hone. Need to use a proper hone afterwards.
