My mare has been on many of the stomach, ulcer, GI etc etc supplements. SmartPak offers SmartGut Ultra, which is what we used to use. But was getting to be expensive. I switched to this in hopes of a cheaper alternative, though I know it isn't exactly the same, it has a lot of the same things in it. My mare has been using this at least 6 weeks. I find that as picky as she is, she is eating it really well, and her gut seems to be pretty happy. She's very sensitive, with a history of ulcers and colic, and is a well controlled cribber, so I think it is definitely working for her!

I’ve used GUT for years and love it. Can’t say for sure if it helps with ulcers but it definitely helps with weight gain, and horses ability to absorb things better. It also doesn’t plateau like Succeed does and it’s a fraction of the cost.

I run to Zooh Corner Rabbit Rescue. Rabbit G.I. tracts are very very similar to horses. I started using this product a little over a year ago, in micro-amounts compared to what we would use for our horses, for rabbits. It is extremely effective. Unfortunately, at a 16th of a teaspoon, twice a day, you can imagine how long it would take to go through an entire 2 pound container. Still, great stuff. Would love it if it came in smaller quantities.

My only complaint is that there are no directions on the packaging for how to administer this product. It is an ultra-fine powder which, when mixed with pelleted grain, made my horse cough/snort (from the dusty consistency) & refuse to eat it. I had to spray it down or mix it with water (into a slurry) to get her to eat it.I called the customer service line to see if they had any recommendations or was it was ok to mix it with water, and the rep had no helpful advice; she just sort of laughed and said something like, 'yeah, I guess you could do it that way.'

I have a mini pony with chronic diarrhea - I tried everything.....first changed his feed, then all kinds of probiotics, chastetree berry etc..but he still had diarrhea. I read an article by a vet who said to try a probiotic with Saccharomyces Boulardii in it. GUT is the only probiotic I found with that particular strain in it. My pony won't eat powdered stuff so I just added a little water to make the powder stick to his pelleted feed and he ate it. By day 2 the diarrhea was gone!

My horse loves this. It also smells like brownies mix haha
