Hakko980-V12/P Presto Soldering Iron, Pen Type, 20W to 130W

Great soldering iron for any job. Live the high temp button to get it heated up fast or for soldering components with meaty leads or beefy pads.

I am very satisfied with this product as a replacement for my 984 which I had purchased in Japan and burnt out 5 years later using it on a 220 power source accidentally. The only difference being the convenient cover for the 984. This is a great soldering pen.

Used it two times and already failed.Not what I was expecting from a Japan tool.

Edit: dropped from 4 stars to 2 stars since Hakko FX-600 provides much better value, more ergonomic, electronic temperature stabilization, adjustable, heats faster, and has much better tip selection. I am using the (genuine Hakko) Japanese version sold here in Amazon US (B006MQD7M4), it's roughly half the price of the model Hakko market in the US.I use this soldering iron to occasionally soldering wires and love the turbo button which speeds up the initial heating (I press it for 30 secs or so. don't over do it).The cone tip is useless but amazon has a chisel replace tip which is much better B00V62MR5WDropping one star due to the high price, even if considering that it's made by a brand name.
