I had a clunky 3-step ladder in my kitchen, and stored it in the small sliver of space between my refrigerator and wall. Took a few chunks out of the drywall through the years, slinging it in and out of that space, when all I wanted to do was reach the back of an upper cabinet for wild rice or something I don't need very often.This step stool has replaced that step ladder. It's the perfect height for what I need it for, it fits in that sliver of space, no one sees it unless they're looking for it, and has its own handle. And it's a great price.

This 13-inch step stool is a heavy-duty one, rated for 300 pounds, which means that you don't find yourself factoring in a safety margin of 10% and thereby realize that the stool is decidedly unsafe should an American man--or many American women--choose to use it (I returned that one). It addition to helping me reach high shelves, it turns out that this stool is very useful for transferring laundry from the washer to the dryer stacked on top of it. Previously, I had to stoop or crouch down--not so easy to do with aged knees and hips--now I can sit and simply toss items into the dryer. (One takes amusement where one can; it's not as if I'm ever going to be able to do actual basketball lay-ups .)

Works well. It’s very small and feels flimsy but it’s not. I got it as it’s getting harder to get up from the floor and I sit on the floor to sort dirty laundry and file paperwork. Now I use this stool and my back doesn’t hurt and I can more easily get up. I only wish I bought it sooner.

My first impressions out of the packaging was that it was a little flimsy for a rating of 300 lbs. Once folded out, the only flimsy feeling I get from my feet is the middle. You can feel it flex, however, if your feet are taking up the entire step you don't notice it. It works for what I'm using it for, especially due to the price. Very easy to set up. Storing it was easy due to its slimness. I have dedicated and more sturdy step ladders/benches for heavy duty home projects. This needed to be used in a smaller space, so it works.

Very useful! I work in Home Health and this comes in handy to sit on when doing wound care or needing to set my stuff on. Highly recommend. But it can also be used at home.

Due to knee problems, I bought this item to use when gardening. Perfection: easy to carry, fold and clean.
