It’s does exactly what it says IF YOU FOLLOW DIRECTIONS!
I started with jet black hair.First I used a color stripper to pull out the black. Then coated my hair with K18 leave in mask. Didn’t wash for three days. This brought my hair to a burnt orange color. Then I used wella developer- a 30- with manic panic bleach. Coated in K18 leave in mask and my hair was lifted to a 9.Again- no washing for three days to allow the hair to rest and let the k18 do its job.Washed finally. Coated again in k18 and waited two days- then applied this hair color. Most importantly- when using got2b- follow the directions. Rinse the color out only- do not use shampoo and conditioner- that’s why so many reviews say the color washed right down the drain.Rinse throughly in cold water- not hot- not lukewarm.Apply the after color conditioner- let it set for the minimum two minutes- I let it set for 5-10.Rinse. Towel dry.I got the exact color on the box the first time around. Here’s the thing- this will not work on hair color any darker than a 7-8. So there’s a lot of reviews that say it’s crap….it's not- if you’re literate. After you’ve towel dried- another healthy coat of k18 won’t hurt. Then again- don’t wash your hair for 72 hours. After processing your follicles are wide open- and using shampoo will take the color right out.Let your natural oils return- use a damn good mask- and follow directions. For 12$ this is the best silver gray I’ve ever used. Will 100% use it again. Have been to numerous salons looking to get my natural gray blended and no one could do it.

Never again. Fed up.
My hair is dark brown, with a bit of reddish gold and grey in it. I wanted to cover it up and get out the red. I thought this would be a nice color change. I haven't dyed my hair in years, so everything was fresh. My hair is past my shoulders and curly, so I bought 2 boxes. It was best to buy 2 boxes because the first box really only covered half my hair.I used a dark blue towel to cover with. The gloves are a big size, which is good because I have big hands. One of the tubes started to split while squeezing it, so you really need to wear gloves from the start. This dye stinks. Stinks of ammonia. When I spent several minutes rinsing out the dye. When I dried off, I used a white towel, and blue got all over it. I decided that I would rinse it again the next day because I was tired of rinsing. The next day, I just used conditioner to rinse my hair with. When I dried my hair off, with a new towel, there was still blue on that towel as well. The next day, I shampooed and conditioned my hair. Still stinks.Rinsed my hair the next day. Still stinked.Today is Thursday and my hair still stunk. I just shampooed and conditioned my hair and I can still smell faint ammonia. This is very frustrating. On a side note, their conditioner smells very good but that does nothing for this horrible ammonia smell. My scalp also itches, even though I did a patch test on my arm and my arm doesn't itch.I'm never doing box dye again. It'll be henna next time or a wig.To add, the color came out as expected for my hair color, but it's just not worth it.

Works great on light colored hair!
Worked great on husbands blonde hair!

Example panel is misleading
I got this color hoping for the light and icy silver that's on the front of the box, heck I would have even settled for slightly darker, but even though my hair was incredibly light blonde before dying, it turned my hair a weird dark blueish grey instead... Application is also spotty despite saturating my entire head.Perhaps it was user error, but I am definitely saddened that it went so dark and is so patchy when the box showed that my color would turn the silver I wanted.Hoping that it will lighten with a few washes.

good before your hair is naturally gray.
Metalic hair color. I've used this color before and really liked it. But now I'm gray headed and thought it would work and it doesnt. So disappointed.

Worked wonders!
I had faded BLACK hair and wanted something different and to not have gray roots showing, so I bleached out the black dye ( did it two times in a week with a 40% developer) and waited a few days (directions said wait 14 days but I never follow directions...child of the rebellious 1960's!!!) and used TWO boxes and my hair was just the color of butterscotch yellow when I used this dye. I was not sure how well it would work, but my motto is NO GUTS, NO GLORY.....so I put it in and was SO pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. The first photo is taken inside and the second is outside (the blue is a wax I put in for fun). I was kinda surprised at how much smaller this hair dye was as far as box size and contents. Never used one like that and I have been coloring my own hair for 55 years. I have had it colored now for a couple of weeks (I do not wash my hair but once a week and use a "purple" shampoo to keep the yellow out) and I am still very happy with it. I actually just bought a box (regular size...go figure) of their Metallic Blue to add some fun to the silver. The black I had used was also from this company and it was the first time I had ever used any product from this company. Very happy with all my results.
