National Geographic Traveler: Panama, 3rd Edition

Great photos and descriptions. Weakest on reviews of vendors (resorts, lodging, etc.).

A quite good guide to Panama and the overall places to visit in and around the country. Did not travel there so do not know how the guide actually translates to being there and following what is says. Still it very well written and seems like a vey good guide to take recommendations from.

Good background information about Panama history, geography, politics, climate, flora and fauna.

The media could not be loaded.  I purchased three Panama books and this is by far the best and most descriptive for a tourist. I like that there are many photos and maps within the book and the many locations covered are very detailed. I also purchased the National Geographic Map https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1566952603/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_24 and it is very detailed as well. Probably no better book and map to be found!

This is not the seller's fault, but the font in this book is much too small. It is onerous to try to read. Maybe this should be noted.

Purchased this book prior to my trip to Panama. Great information to cover prior to a visit. It was current and up to date. Short chapters of categorized information in an easy to read format.

This travel book is definitely more nature-focused, so I suppose it's good for that purpose. I was hoping for a more broad view of things to do and see, including contemporary sites, restaurants, bars, etc.

Compared to the Lonely Planet books, I do not like it.It does not have a good map from the different Cities in Panama and everything is great eventhough many "sights" are quite boring.It can only provide a small overview what you can see, but in my opinion only scratch the surface of what you can do in Panama City.

Les guides à jour sur le Panama ne sont pas légion. Celui est en anglais,mais il apporte une vision complète du Panama, avec des parcours recommandés, de belles descriptions des lieux et les adresses à jour, même si celles-ci changent vite au Panama. A recommander, mais prévoyez un autre guide (en français) comme celui d'Ulysse. Pour info, j'ai eu accès au Routard qui ne m'a pas emballé.
