Good saw
The handle placement on this saw should prove much more durable over time than the side mounted handle on the Weston. I've used the saw a few times and liked the ergonomics, sturdiness, blade sharpness, and easy blade removal for cleaning. The blade is not stainless steel. It would rust if not dried after cleaning and lightly coated with a protective food-grade oil (I use mineral oil) or silicone spray.

A GREAT RUGGED SUPER QUALITY MEAT SAW
The girl of my dreams and woman of my life bought a 2"+ thick slap of FROZEN pot roast, in a plastic bag with gravy, from a truck based food source that has great food.So here we were with a big chunk of frozen meat that would last we two mid-seventies kids for at least 3 meals.REQUIREMENT: CUT IT INTO 3 MEAL SIZED PIECES WITHOUT THAWING IT, to save and use it for 3 separate future meals. Thanks heavens that the LEM 640 16" Meat Saw With Tightening Cam is such high quality and rugged and strong, that it saved us. I held the meat hunk on a wood cutting board with one hand, while I push sawed through the ice berg of meat, with the saw blade reversed, with the other hand.OK I admit I used a heavy hand sledge with a chisel to crack the last 3/4" of the meat berg apart. But it was the overall strength and quality of the LEM Meat Saw that allowed me to do it.

Capable and inexpensive
Works fine for cutting through a calf’s leg lengthwise, which is the main reason I bought it. Requires a bit of elbow grease to make it through that much bone, but it’s absolutely reasonable for the task.Only other bad reviews I’ve seen here were related to the replaceable actual saw part. Just clean and oil it right after using. Tool maintenance 101...

Good saw, needs a stainless steel blade.
This is a great saw for using on bone, however the blade is not stainless steel. Meaning you need to dry it and coat it as soon as your finished or it will get surface rust. Thank you.

Must have tool for meat processing
A must have tool for processing your own beef, pork, venison at home. Strong sturdy, does it’s intended job well. Also handy to use to cut a chunk off a larger piece of frozen meat or cut a big whole bone in ham in half to fit in your pan! Bought one for our own home use and then my Dad was over helping with a deer and wanted one of his own. Worth it.

Nice butcher saw
This saw made short work of three deer. Cutting through rib cages and hip bones was no issue. My hunting buddies liked it so much that they immediately thought about ordering one for themselves. I will be buying another one to keep as a spare for the future.PRO-TIP: Make sure the teeth on the blade are pointing toward the handle. That way cutting happens when you pull. If you install the blade the other way around, you will have a really hard time, believe me.

a must for meat processing
after using this on 15 full size barbados sheep since this february, it still cuts through bones like butter. as long as you clean and oil the blade and store it properly, it will cut strong and true.

Nice saw, crap blade, over priced
So i thought this was a decent deal, especially since lem tends to be pricey. But the blade is not food quality. It's not stainless steel. You will get one use out of it before a world of rust. The saw and handle are nice but not for the price when you consider you have to spend another $20 or whatever on a proper blade. Regret buying this and wish I got a junker and bought a nice blade or just got a nicer saw with an actual stainless steel blade for cutting food.
