i have tried a lot of the clay pomades mentioned in the reddit forums and youtube videos, this one is my go to. the finish is textured, initially has a satin finish that dries to the more natural look(can keep that finish if you apply while more wet).has all day hold and can get away with styling it the next morning. is a bit heavier than some of the more creamy ones, but can get away with it by using less if you hair isn't that thick. my hair is someone thick, fairly straight, and can be difficult to style and this works great.If you are unsure what to get, then I would start here.(also if you liked the old formula baxter california, try this out. it is not the exact same at all, but the results area great)

I’ve been using this clay since it came out and there’s a big reason I am using it today! It WORKS! It has fantastic hold, stuff goes all day- and then some! It also is so easy to use in my hair, it’s thick, but slightly creamy so it immediately has that tough hold but you can also get it into the hair fairly quickly and easily. I love that I can use it quick with my son’s hair, which is shorte- or use a bit more and take my time with it in my own hair, which is a bit longer. This clay is the real deal!

Great product. Bought it after watching a video that showcased it. I use it along side the sea salt spray and I have a long lasting hold all day, while still giving my hair a relaxed look.

This clay has a good firm hold and the gives my usually straight and shiny hair a better texture and more Matt finish. Smells good too.

Most Shaevoo products are good, this is one of the best petroleum base clays I've tried, the shine is natural and has very good hold without becoming hard to wash out as other oil base products

Is very very difficult to wash off your hands once you apply it to your hair. does work very well in hair though.

Man, what a disappointment. After seeing the commercial online and video on this site, I bought a jar. When I opened to take a dap with my index finger, I was surprised how hard it was and totally unlike what I'd seen in the videos/commercial. It's not an exaggeration comparing its consistency to wood filler. Not giving up, I got a butter knife with rounded tip and dug me out some of this product. I rubbed it between my palms and it just crumpled into so much waste of money. I didn't hesitate in returning it. I don't recommend. (oh, yeah, it has a good scent redolent of orchid)

I have used a number of different products with my rebellious hair and have only found the fantastic Sam's molding mud to be reasonably effective but unfortunately its not sold online. So I tried ocean clay and it is now my new go to, its reworkable and holds just as good if not better than Sam's! Its better than crew, tea tree, and redkins for me. I do use OGX's mousse before applying the clay and it is a phenomenal combo!
