OSCARBIDE 3/8" Shank Heavy-Duty Indexable Lathe Tool Holder Set (7-Piece) - CNC Nickel Plated Metal Cutting Tools for Turning, Grooving, Threading with Tin Coated Carbide Inserts

Use these on my Mini lathe, I have turned aluminum, steel and hardened steel (rifle barrels for example). They work well. The Threading one works perfectly as well.Only issue, for a mini lathe, the cut off is too much for it on steel. There isn't enough rigidity or power to effectively use it on harder material. If you lock the gibs, and go super carefully you may get lucky and it will work, but most likely you'll stall out the machine or jam it up. You'll want a HSS blade since it will take less HP to cut. It should work fine on Soft metals though.

I did a small amount of lathe work with a couple of the tools and was very happy with them. I am also using yje left hand tool in my R8 Fly Cutter in my mill. works very well for that purpose also.

Good quality, useful selection of angled holders. These worked well on my lathe on steel, chrome moly steel, and aluminum. Hard to beat for the cost.

The tools perform pretty well, no complaints for the cost. But all the extra info on the page description about replacement part numbers, ideal feeds and speeds, now that was super handy. Thanks, would buy again.

These are of good quality and at a reasonable price. The carbide inserts are indexed in a pocket and held in place with a screw. This is essential so the insert does not move in the tool holder, unlike some of the less expensive tool holders that retain the insert with only the screw. The parting ( cut off) tool is also heavier than some other I seen for sale. Overall good quality tooling at a reasonable price.

I was Sceptical about purchasing this set of tooling as I try to get the most Bang for the Dollar! This is a good investment especially for the Home Machinist. If you have a Mini-Lathe you already understand their Limitations machining harder materials. This will give you a new level of ability and the Inserts are easy to find and will do the Job!!!

This set works well for my classes I'm taking, little small for the holder but can be easily remedied by machining a small insert. My only problem with this set was that the cut off tool carbide broke the first time I used it. Would also be nice if they included an extra set of tips even if there's a small additional price. Overall not bad.

This is a quality tool set with well made components.
