Forget about removing this thing after mounting
Other than the mounting system, this thing is fine. But the mounting system is a MAJOR problem. Someone at Moen was overly clever with developing this new mounting system which has an inner plastic "sleeve" that you screw into the wall with a little tooth that clicks into a notch in the post when you press it in place. I know--hard to describe. Well, the biggest problem is once this thing is mounted it is nearly impossible to get it off unless you pull the darn thing out of the wall. After having a problem with the initial mount, I struggled for about 2 hours before finally getting this thing to "unclick"--and that was after I pulled it out of the wall. Really, really poor design. Whoever designed the mounting system was an idiot.

DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT BUY!!!!
Believe the other reviews: the mounting system is one of the most pathetic pieces of engineering I have encountered. I have installed many bars and similar accessories and never had a problem. Virtually all use the same system: a mounting bracket is screwed to the wall, then a small set screw secures the post to the bracket. It’s a simple design that works and has stood the test of time.Moen has reinvented the wheel and made it square. Instead of a metal bracket and set screw, they provide a plastic bracket with a small plastic tab at the bottom. You have to press the post onto the bracket until the little plastic tab engages a small hole at the bottom of the post. Sound simple? Sure —- unless things don’t line up 100%, or maybe your wall bows out a bit as mine does. Then you find the plastic tab will never find the little hole.Avoid all Moen accessories using this idiotic mounting system.

Frustrating to use
The item is beautiful and matches other items in the collection we bought when remodeling the master bathroom. However, this particular item drives me crazy! The spring in the toilet paper roll holder is so inflexible that it makes it nearly impossible to take out and put back when putting on a new roll. I actually cut off about 1 inch on each spring and STILL fight to get it back in place. I can tell that over time it is going to rip it right out of the wall due to the constant struggle to position it. I expect that I'm going to have to cut more off the springs to make it less tight. I would never repurchase this item.

No Template and Shoddy Pro+Fit Installation System.
Stay away. You will have a nightmare of a time installing these posts or attempting to remove them once installed. The Pro+Fit Installation System is just their way of reducing cost by eliminating the usual set screw system. To remove, you will have to insert a screw driver blade into a slot at bottom of post to push a plastic clip out of way to release the post from the wall anchor. The sheetrock is not strong enough to take the pressure of pushing in on the clip while pulling on the post to remove. Absolute junk.

The Great TP Conspiracy
I purchased this Moen product because it matched the faucets installed in my new house. While the installation would have been a breeze, out of the box, it was obvious that today's trend of double rolls, would never fit on this TP holder. In fact, I'm not even sure if a half empty tube of toilet paper would fit, given the distance between the holder and the wall when installed. Observing this before I drilled the first hole into my pristine drywall saved a lot of heartache, although I let time pass me by, so I have four unused TP holders that are past the return date. I don't know why over the years manufacturers of toilet paper have shortened the tube length, and then basically doubled the density and amount of tp they put on the roll...but Moen was definitely not on the same page.

and then i got 2 more wood screws from home depot and mounted mine using the 2 outer holes of each bracket -- super solid this way
So yes - the mounting system is a bit cheap - as if you're mounting to drywall where no studs are - it only comes with a molly bolt/anchor type which would go in the middle hole of the 3 holes in those plastic mounting brackets. Then you would have to pound those 2 spikes on either side of each bracket to "hold" it from turning on you. I feel those would eventually wear out and it would turn on you. Mine came with no mounting instructions or template either, so i had to do it the "old fashioned way" by measuring and using a level.Luckily, i was mounting to my wooden vanity, so i used the 2 wood screws that came with it, and then i got 2 more wood screws from home depot and mounted mine using the 2 outer holes of each bracket -- super solid this way.To address the roll spring thing falling apart... what i did, i had my old generic white roller that has a stop. I measured that and made the brackets only that far apart so i could use that instead. Then i thought that looked ugly - so i cut the spring on the brushed nickel one that came with it to be the size of the white one (if you error on cutting the spring, error on the longer side of course). The problem with the roller that comes with it, is the spring is strong and it's too long, meaning the overlap of the 2 cylinders isn't enough - so by shortening it, there's more overlap and it doesn't fall apart. Anyways - that's my take.

Mounting instructions have errors
The installation instructions are inaccurate. The instructions say center to center mounting is 6 1/4 inches but the spring loaded bar (which) is plastic) won't fit. Spacing needs to be 6 1/2 inched. Also, instructions state not to over tighten the the screw anchors - 6 to 8 full turns is enough. Unfortunately this does not provide solid anchoring of bracket to the wall as I had one pull out when checking on firmness of the post after attaching to the wall bracket. I have several Moen products in my home and am happy with them but this one leaves a little to be desired.

Miserable piece of this set
We bough the entire Brantford set for our bathroom. All the other pieces (faucets, towel racks, shower and tub head, etc) are all great- but this is a piece of garbage. The center tube is miserable. The ends are sharp and painful to push together to put another roll on the holder. It looks nice- but it is easily the worst part of the set. I am looking for a lift lever style that matches everything else and this will be in the garbage.

Nice looking, but a bit challenging to install.
Really nice fixture, but the anchors provided were a bit challenging to use. The first attempt at mounting one of the anchors resulted in bending it. Would have been nice if Moen could have provided one extra anchor for boo boos. Once installed the unit is very secure and nice looking.
