You have to blow very hard
Pros:-light weightCons- string is too short to wear around your neck- you have to blow super hard to get a clear sound- feels cheap, like a kids toy

Veterans need to do better
I bought this whistle because my Marine Corps brothers supply it. I was very disappointed with the volume it produces. More like a boy scout whistle. Get a Thunder Storm brand

Disappointing to have a "runners" lanyard so small it won't fit around your neck
The whistle is LOUD. I'll give it 4 stars for that. But as for being "a running whistle" the stupidity of having a lanyard that's far too small to put around your head and neck, too small to attach to a belt loop and reach your mouth in an emergency, and for the wrist it would not only be too large to go around the wrist without falling off (and too small to double wrap it), but whoever thought to call this a "running whistle" while failing to consider the needs of a runner... it's just disappointing. This lanyard is just in the way, it has no useful purpose given the ridiculous length. The price is right, the whistle is loud.. needs a longer lanyard.

Nice and loud
Great for dogs that are "hard of hearing" lol i used to hollar and whistle for my dogs but they were hopelessly unabke to hear me on the property. But since i got these great whistles i only have to blow a couple good times and here come galloping. The whistles are light weight and i used the lanyard to attach one to my sportdog training collar remote. Nice! I'll feel better about taking them hiking as they tend to assume a deafness on excursions as well lol
