Learn a self-defense version of Wing Chun, and have a complete training plan with it
This is not your traditional Wing Chun style. The author has specifically presented a simplified version of the art, with only 40-odd movements, but it is also modernized and applied to the most likely self-defense scenarios in the West. Movements are allowed to be very loose, which is not usually taught in Wing Chun, and all have been adapted for confrontation with a kickboxing-style brawler you would likely encounter on the streets or bars of America and Europe. One of the greatest features is the training plan, linked in the back of the book. By means of that, you will be able to cover all of the techniques in under 90 sessions. That will give you a great head-start if you are beginning to train on your own. Of course, you will make the greatest progress if you have an instructor. But if that is difficult for you (due to funds, or distance) than this book used along with a few visits with a Sifu will still translate into great progress. My only complaint - Some of the illustrations and descriptions are difficult to decipher. But a simple search on YouTube will lead to many videos and tutorials. I suggest both are used for ultimate benefit.

A good introduction to the art
This is a good and concise introduction to Wing Chun. It presents techniques as a learning progression, enabling students to gradually build their understanding and practice of the art through various training exercises. This book may be a good complement for a beginner's studies of the art, or as a review guide for a more experienced practitioner. For those seeking a basic overview of Wing Chun principles and techniques, this book is highly recommended.

It's cool
The techniques in the book really are modified versions of wing chun king fu. Ip man's fighting style was always interesting to me, this modified version of wing chun King fu should definitely be recommended to people who wanna be Wing Chun Kung Fu practitioners.

Misleading cover and title.
The cover and title should tell the reader something to the effect of "Handful of Wing Chun Adapted to a Street Fight". By Mr Sam FuryIllustrations are poor. Missing basic visual guides like 'arrows'. The burden of understanding is placed on the reader to first divine the pictures, draw notes, then start trying to learn it. If you have never studied Wing Chun, there is a good chance for poor technique. You need to have already studied formal Kung Fu or Tai Chi to get all the good information from this book.I guess there was someone in 1875 named Sam Fury, murdered cherokee in Arkansas, so it is a plausible real name.

Better than expected.
I thought this would be yet another Wing Chun 101 book, I was happy to be proven wrong. This is a pretty cool book. It covers a lot of the basics and slips in a few non basics in there as well. There is no substitute for a good teacher but to add on to that this is a very good book.

A great book
I've studied several martial arts and self defence systems over thirty plus years, I'm always looking for new ideas, this book is full of them. It's easy to understand and follow and very comprehensive for the price.

Not worth it. The pictures are all hand drawn, anime-ish type.
