Svord Drop Point Hunter

Only thing I would change is making it the complete full tang but other than that I cant say much.

This is a good knife, however the tip required work and the scabbard could be improved. You could cut your belt if not real careful!

I am not impressed. First off, the blade slipped out of the sheath right when I took it out of the box. Nearly took off a toe as the knife clattered onto the floor. As I picked it up, I noticed the varnish was very uneven, and had a rough texture in my hand. Alright, I thought to myself, a poor sheath and laughable fit and finish on the handle. The blade must amazing, because frankly, everything else was 50 shades of terrible. I tried to cut a tomato. Took three swipes before the blade caught the skin, and even then it tore the skin a little. Wiped it off, and instantly put it back in the box for a return. The blade material itself seemed decent (thin, feels like it could take an edge reasonably well), which I guess is the knife's only saving grace.

I picked this up as an inexpensive bushcraft knife that I could leave in my truck. I have been using it about 3 months now and can say that I really like it. The blade will easily strop to hair shaving sharpness. Holds a good edge so I believe that the steel and temper treatment are good. It doesn't stay as sharp as long as my super steel knives, but the trade off is that that I can easily touch up the blade with a small whet stone in the field. Some have reported that the finish or fit on the handle was poorly done, but mine didn't have those issues. Still I have considered reshaping the handle and insetting a 1/4 teaspoon (so it can be used for bow drill fire starting). Sheath is junk so I made a fast sheath for it. This is a great knife, but it's not the right knife for everyone.
