A Consensual Affair
I will start by saying that this novel is, in my opinion, the author’s best work to date. The best way I can describe it is that it is McCurran’s Hot Dates, Gentrified and Kenny Wright’s Training To Love It all rolled into one but more from the female perspective. The author combines some elements of the very popular Dominant Alpha Male romance novels that women are so fond of with the hotwife genre which I find very intriguing. As such it is probably the ideal paradigm of the hotwife scenario from the female perspective and may appeal more to the female sexual psychology rather than just being a story about a wife fulfilling her husband’s fantasies and appealing more to male readers with the fantasy. I would be interested to see reviews from females who do not typically read in this genre. The author also did a tremendous job getting into the psychology of the characters giving this a very realistic feel: the worries, the fears, the questions, the anxiety and excitement are all very real things a married couple would experience in their progression giving the readers the opportunity to experience it vicariously.I also like that the couple are kind to each other (mostly) and loving and appear to come out stronger in the end with what appears to be a HEA. I think I would have preferred a different ending though. Maybe one where she comes off the high and out of the fog of the affair and realizes in a new light just how important her love for her husband is compared to her dirty fun but maybe that will come after a crisis in a sequel. Maybe I’m a bit of a romantic.I have to say that for me, when reading these stories I’m always a little uncomfortable when one of the parties is uneasy. In this case it was Andy. Reading this I felt his confusion and anguish and putting myself in his shoes it would be too much for me. I just feel like that if one person is not comfortable enough to participate the couple shouldn’t do it. The journey should be a shared experience to be healthy. This story has more of a cuckold edge to it. Even though Stephanie worries about him constantly and mostly respects his feelings, his assent does not seem enthusiastic and maybe a bit pressured by his fear of resentment and losing her. This could have been very damaging in the long-term in that he could be the one to develop resentment towards her. She takes that for granted a bit. Also, it's not stated directly in the story but Andy would have to be worried that if he called things off that she could go covert and do it behind his back. He would know how bad she wanted it. So there's a little bit of pressure on him to agree. There's also the issue with Andy developing a hairtrigger issue when they talk about the possibilities. This is kind of a trap for Andy. Stephanie interprets this as him being very turned on about it which it probably at least partly is, but it's mostly due to his anxiety about the situation. So at the same time that his body is betraying him by sending miscommunication by body language it's also making her lover appear more attractive by comparison. I take it as a further sign of his anxiety.I also didn’t like the “white lies” (a half-truth is a full lie) and constant rule breaking. He trusted her with a tremendous freedom and her lack of responsibility with that bothers me. I know, people aren’t perfect and that is how it is likely to go in real life and it also makes for good stories. I also know that the loss of control is and self-acting is “hot” for many people and to be honest, in many ways it’s hot to me. Reading this made me as confused as Andy!In the end, this story is basically one of a consensual affair. The husband is aware of it and simply passively allowing it to happen. Although there is no real cheating or major deceit, the wife is having an extramarital relationship of an intimate and romantic nature, getting to experience the high of the new relationship energy and come home to her normal life and loving husband while he remains faithful. This is not an A MFM Ménage Romance where the husband participates with assistance in ravaging his wife or a story of a wife being submissive to two men (which is what it seems the wife really wants). Nor is it a story of a wife fulfilling a husband’s watching fantasy by being “his personal porn star” and doing what he desires to see for him. It is a story of a woman becoming sexually confident and getting what SHE wants for herself and her husband allowing and even encouraging it and maybe getting a little something out of it too. I really appreciate McCurran’s exploration of how the hotwife fantasy could he hot from the wife perspective.

Very Hot Read
Great hotwife story showing the slow then fast progression of a married woman opening up to the hotwife life style. It also shows the dilemma the husband goes through with the twisted feelings of angst and passion and how much he loves his wife and allowing her the passion she desires.

Highly Recommend
This was a very entertaining and well written book; I highly recommend it. In my opinion, Kristen McCurran has become equal with or has surpassed such Hotwife genre writers as Kenny Wright, Max Sebastian and Ben Boswell. The story flowed, did not drag and certainly instilled a feeling of angst and trepidation in the husband Andy, that was passed onto the reader, big time! Andy is the stereotypical weak husband (cuck) and Stephanie, his wife, learns Dez, a coworker of Stephanie’s, is in fact a “Bull” who “services” women in front of their husbands or at least, with their husbands knowledge and approval. Stephanie of course tells Andy who is immediately turned on imaging his wife sexually with Dez. Thus begins the dilemma. You know the one, do Andy & Stephanie, who have never had an exciting sex life, continue their usual normal, borderline dull routine sex life? Or does Stephanie hookup with Dez who will teach her how to be a slut, and allow herself to be exposed to new sexual slutty things she has never experienced, and provides Andy with all the sexual details? We all know the answer, and off goes Stephanie into the world of becoming a “Slutty Hotwife” with Dez, her bull. The sex scenes between Stephanie & Dez are well written, and seem believable. Andy has a lot of sex with his wife as a result of her new relationship with her “Bull”. When Stephanie returns home after having sex with Dez, she tells Andy all of the details. However, Andy has a “short fuse” and love making with him only last for seconds, not hours like with Dez.The new slutty Stephanie’s sexual relationship with her Bull Dez starts to take its toll on Andy. Doubts creep into his mind, is he going to lose her? He is so conflicted about it being “ hot” seeing Stephanie having sex with Dez, and his self doubt whether Stephanie will leave him for her Bull. Of course Andy is turned on by her sexual experiences with Dez, especially her doing things with him she never had previously experienced; all of which are filmed and provided to Andy for his enjoyment. One thing that bothered me is the fact that Andy could not/would not tell Stephanie what to do. When the two are trying to decide “if” Stephanie should go with Dez, his standard answer is that he don’t “own” her. Meaning, she can do whatever she wants, have sex with Dez or don’t have sex with Dez. What, so he is saying she can do as she pleases? Could she decide to buy a Ferrari without talking to Andy? Could she make plans to take a separate vacation to the Bahamas’s without her husband? How could Andy stop her, since he doesn’t “own” her?I don’t see this as an issue of “ownership”, as a married couple don’t you have a right as a husband or wife to say “no” you can’t do something without making it a matter of “ownership”? As it turns out, I believe the discussions between Stephanie & Andy, as to her being with Dez, was handled by default. Stephanie never “technically” had the green light from Andy, however, one night things get way out of control between Stephanie & Dez, and the line was crossed. Communication is always the key. I believe Andy was hiding behind this “ownership” issue as a way of giving Stephanie his tacit approval. In my opinion Andy saying “make your own decision” is a cop out. But, we are dealing with a “cuck” as a husband, would you expect otherwise. Also, I would have preferred for Stephanie & Dez to be professionals v a clerk and a truck driver screwing in cheap and sleazy motels. Just my personal preference. Finally, thanks for the length of 300 plus pages, I’m tired of being forced to buy books 130 pages or less.

A tantalising tale
First off, this is a good book. And one of the reasons why it's good is that it takes the reader places that they may find uncomfortable - there's a lot of focus on the husband's conflicting emotions, which ratchets up the tension and makes it feel all the more realistic: there's a good reason why they say "be careful what you wish for".The ending is ambiguous, as is much of the story, with husband and wife miscommunicating, mistaking and misreading each other, such that it leaves you wondering whether each of them is getting quite what they thought they wanted...Though by the end, it seems clear that the erstwhile quiet 'mom next door' is now a fully fledged hotwife with needs far in excess of her husband's initial fantasy - the unanswered question being whether he can still cope with the hotwife he has helped to turn his loving spouse into...

Really good!
This was a great book in the " hotwife" genre with plenty action to keep the reader entertained. The main characters were well described and the story built up at a good pace where the parts each played gradually developed. The communication between Andy and Stephanie was good right from the beginning and the sexual chemistry between Dez and Stephanie kept ramping up to the inevitable and enjoyable physical climax. The story's climax involved all three main characters and had all the action one could hope for without turning into an orgy.

Only so so
In the past I have really enjoyed McCurran’s work and then I purchased her last one about tickets to an NFL game and it was just awful. This one is a slight improvement - but not much of one. The dialogue was often clunky, the characters were one dimensional and by the end the sex scenes were repetitive and dull.In the future I will wait to buy until there are 6-7 reviews with more realistic reviews rather than buying after the usual friends and family 5* reviews.

Interesting new perspective
There were a few proofing errors, but otherwise excellent. Okay the genre limits the possibilities and the usual stereotypes were there, plus the usual locations, but generally well written and the take on the hotwife's empowerment was an interesting new angle.
