I bought this as a gift for my photographer brother in law. I think the mug is great and looks fairly realistic to me (although of course, this is a gag gift, I still want it to appear as it should be). My one disappointment is that in the pictures it shows it says "Canon" on the cup. This does not. However it also doesn't have any logos - I would rather it have none than something misspelled. So it does lose a star for not being quite as advertised. I don't know if the mug actually works as this is a gift! If there is a problem with it I will update my review.Update: 10/20/14It was a hit with my brother in law! He used it immediately after he opened it.

Its a great mug and a great representation of an actual 70-200mm Canon lens. But, it says Caniam on the lid and not Canon. Out of all the ones I looked at, I thought this one was the best because it wasn't a thermos and actually said Canon. I still think its your best option because I doubt there really is one out there that says Canon that is this size. The photographer I got the mug for still LOVED it, regardless of the "Caniam" logo on the lid and carrying bag.

I picked this cup because I'm a photographer & the concept sold me. I was disappointed to open the lid & see the cavitywas cut short about 2". The extra 2" of coffee are certainly missed with my take away cup. I also noticed the 'Canon' name on the lid itself seems to be fading a bit already (after 3 washes), but the rest/body is holding up just fine.Last critique comes with the big plus. The cup seals really well with the lid (PLUS), but when you open to drink from it, they made no air release hole, so just drops at a time come out of the drink hole. I wind up taking the lid off to drink my joe.

I like the lens cup. The depth of the cup is actually about 3/4 of the size of the cup from outside. The lid is also a little bit of a problem. There is no additional small hole, so when you take a drink it sounds like slurping. I hate the slurping sound, so for a while I just tilted it up and let the coffee come out slower. Another friend had one and tried to make a small hole in theirs using a dremel tool with a small bit and it had small cracks around the hole. So I opted not to do that. Otherwise, it's a good cup.

Recieved the mug today. Very fast shipping. Am very disappointed with the mug. Went the extra mile and paid the extra $$ for what appeared to be a more authentic looking lens.( Christmas presant for wife's new boss, a photo fanatic.) Mug DOESN'T say "Made in Japan" or " CANON" anywhere on it. DOESN'T have a distance window on it. DOESN'T say "CANON" on the lid. Item recieved looks nothing like the pictures. Save your money. The same mug can be bought else where for less than half of this.

Love my mug but the only fault I have with it is that when drinking the liquid comes out really really slow. I had to punch a hole today with an ice pick in the lid opposite to the opening so the air can flow and the liquid could come out more freely. Much better!

I am a professional photographer and use a cannon lens like this a lot, so in that regard it looks similar. But as far as function as a cup it left a lot to be desired, there is no vent hole to replace the liquid with air as you are drinking so it dribbles out and I have to throw my head back and suck at the same time, I have lately resorted to taking the lid off to drink. The plastic outside is very cheap and thin doesn't feel like a sturdy travel cup. Had I bought this at a local store I probably would have taken it back… But its cute and I didn't want to deal with shipping it back. All in all if cute and fun is what you're looking for go for it!

I really hate having to fix things right out of the box. As I opened this package, the rubber grommet that is supposed to keep the lid snug on top of this cup came off, and now the lid is loose, and might fall off as I'm drinking coffee. I'm now searching for some kind of round rubber band that can take the place of this deteriorated grommet. If I find something that works, I'll be fine, but I really don't like having to fix something that I just bought new, especially before I have a chance to use it. I will contact the seller to see if they will replace the lid. I will update this as things progress. (or lack of progress).Update...I contacted the company, and they sent me a new lid. All is well now, and I am very happy with this purchase.
