A mechanical and No. 2 pencil can move and cause a wavy centering line.** A: I use one of the thicker round, not hexagonal pencils. Maybe try a couple wraps of electrical tape. **Q: Does it come with the pins** A: yes, with 2 pins **Q: can you recommend a mechanical pencil that will fit the holes on this perfectly without wiggle room for the most accurate center line?** A: The holes should be smaller to fit at .5mm lead. I would try a 1.3mm lead. They are hard to find. **Q: Is it possible to order a replacement pin?** A: I'm sure you can get them from the makers but since they are 1/4 inch in diameter I would just go to the hardware store and get a 1/4 inch bolt. Get one that has an unthreaded shank as long as you need and cut the threaded part off. It would be a lot cheaper and it works just as well.
