Heat shielding fire sleeve is fabricated from a dense E-glass fiberglass with a thick coating of self-extinguishing high temperature silicone rubber which is engineered to protect hoses, cables and wire harness from damage due to exposure to extreme heat, open flame and molten splash. It also provides a high degree of insulation value, protecting hot, cold or cryogenic lines, pipes and tubing from heat or cold loss, providing energy savings and abrasion resistance.

Fuel line
I bought this to insulate the fuel line on my Ford Model A. It seems to work very well and I have not experienced vapor lock.

Good for protection from hot exhaust
Wrapped up my steering linkage in this. It is pretty flexible but took me awhile to get it over a thick part of the line. It seems to be holding up pretty well against my exhaust so far. Their seems to be some fibers inside so be careful when handling it.

Works really well, won't even catch fire.
Used to shield the plastic hydraulic clutch line on a 2001 Chevy s10. Had a exhaust leak that was causing the clutch line to melt and blow. Fixed the exhaust leak and wrapped this around the new clutch line and haven't had any issues since. I did test this fire sleeve before installing by cutting a piece off and holding it under a flame. I couldn't even get this to catch fire. The most it did was glow a little bit and crackle under the flame, but the second I took the flame away it quit. I also heated up the outside and using a temperature gun I measured the outside and inside temp and the inside was at least 100 degrees cooler.

No more vapor lock!
I bought this to stop a vapor lock issue. My classic Jeep fuel line would get heat soaked from the header. I put this over the 3/8th fuel line in that section. No more vapor lock. Works great!
