Perfect canoe seat
I took this on a week long canoe trip. It was perfect. I have spine issues and it was really nice to have a solid seat that still had give while paddling. Will definitely use again on my next BWCA jaunt.

Comfortable
I got a pair of these for my canoe. They are comfortable and work great. They are adjustable, so they fit well and hold secure.

Great comfort solution for canoers.
I definitley like this seat. It's well made, sturdy, durable. It's pretty compact and light to pack or carry around. I do a canoe trip every year with family, and last year my back became pretty sore from sitting up & slouching all day. Picked this up, confident that it would make a big difference. It definitely did. I was comfortable the whole time. It's designed well, so the seat padding and back padding are comfortable, and the bar doesnt dig into your back. The recline feature is decent, there is a lot of adjustability. As noted in other reviews, the nylon reclining strap does slip a bit over time, but you can easily tighten it back up. Its kind of nice that if you dont want to use the back rest, you can just flip it down and sit on top of it. That was helpful to get it out of the way at times when i had to pack or unpack the canoe behind the seat. The only gripe I had with it, is while it does support you pretty well, and it is relatively sturdy, its definitely not fully-rigid. When you put your weight on the back rest, it will kind of pull the seat corners up toward you, around your legs. This seems to happen no matter how tight i tried to strap it to the seat. I think if there was a rigid bar or something across the front of the seat, it could prevent this. All in all though, I think this is a great product and in my opinion, a required item for any longer canoe ride. It defintely allowed me to relax my back, and it was always comfortable. I haven't seen any other available product like this that looks to be better. And for $29.00, I think it's a great deal and a cheap comfort solution. Only other alternative, which sounds and looks kind of odd, is to put one of those folding camping chairs in the canoe and sit on it. My buddies do that, and while it looks silly and seems like it might put the center of gravity too high, it has worked for several of them, several years in a row. And because they're fully rigid, they're more comfortable than even this GCI chair.

Canoe seat
Bought as replacements for my factory Coleman canoe seats. Comfortable and better back support. Can be used as stadium seats also.

No back pain!!
I bought 3 of these for my inflatable 16 foot, 3 person canoe. The canoe comes w/standard web seats but for being out on the water for a couple of hours my back took a lot of strain.Bought these. They are super easy to attach to the existing web seats & support your back very well - making an outing on the water a pleasure.Iād recommend this product.

Outstanding! Still Holding Up!
This item here is probably the best thing I purchased outta the $500 I just spent on fishing gear, and I bought some NICE stuff! Although, how would you enjoy these things if you have a back issue? You need comfort my fellow fishin friends! And this is it! The price was all over the place and I feel I over paid, but I used this chair twice within 2 weeks. The second time we hit some pretty bad rapids, flipping the canoe and me needing first-aid and a ride back to camp, but! It held up to the Delaware River! I haven't seen any tears, rips or faulty stitching yet. I guess you would have to expect more/faster wear & tear when you hit the river hard. Lots of moving around, switching positions and banging it around, it still held up. The important thing is bracing my back. I keep finding myself hunched over with tying on hooks or dealing with lures. A long day on the river can strain your back and ruin your night. I felt support in the upright position and relaxed in the reclined position. The strap seemed to hold up well and the chair was well anchored to the canoe bench, the pads were cushiony and I made use of the pocket in the back. I just wish it came with those extension stapes. Still on a waiting list which I don't like. I'm sure the stitching will fail at some point, but if you're not against a little sewing I'd say to pick one of these chairs up. Just don't pay $50 or more for it unless the extension stapes come with it. All around usage & construction 5 stars across the board! š

GCI Outdoor SitBacker
The GCI Outdoor SitBacker is decent for short canoe trips, offering good back support and easy attachment, but the thin padding and limited adjustability make it less comfortable for long outings. It's a convenient option, but durability could be better.
