Good stand, Horrible instructions!
I have a brand new X-ELS machine (blue aluminum one) that I installed on this stand. As another user said, the holes didnt line up. Also, the instructions mentioned set screws, a slide bar, etc…..i couldnt figure out what they were talking about. I called Gamma and they told me to disregard all of those instructions and that they receive lots of calls on this! Pretty annoying! Gamma also told me which screws to use, which the instructions did not. Poorly written instruction!!!!!

Holes does not line up to base
I bought this stand to put on my Gamma X-ELS / X-Stringer (blue base - new version / interface layout).I tried to line up the holes on the plate of this stand onto the bottom base of the stringer. For some odd reason, only 3 of the 4 holes lined up. I don't think this base is for the new version...or the string I got had a faulty base.Either way, it did not line up. Maybe the new stinger base does not work...

Well made Gamma premium floor stand for Gamma Progression ST II Machine
I am glad I ordered this premium floor stand for the Gamma Progression ST II Machine for stringing tennis and badminton racquests. The product is made in Taiwan and is easy to put together. The top base screws into the bottom of the progression ST II machine, and the holes line up nicely. The stand comes with hardware and allen wrenches to attach the top base and also assemble the floor legs. There are floor leveling feet that screw in easily to each of the 4 legs. It is obvious that a lot of thought went into the design and manufacturing of this product.Criticism - The only criticism that I have about this product concerns the use of casters. I wish Gamma Sports would have included casters with the stand or used standard SAE or metric sizing for the stem bolts that insert into the bottom feet so the customer could purchase casters for the stand locally. There are others who purchased this stand in the past and who asked about the use of MFSC casters. I did research this issue prior to purchase because I thought I would want to use casters in case I wanted to move the machine easily. However, there are problems. The 1/2 inch diameter hole that requires a stem bolt to attach a caster does not match any SAE or metric screw thread. The included hardware (stem bolt attached to the round foot base) screws in easily to this hole in each of the 4 legs and is used to level the stand. However, this bolt has a special thread called British Standard Whitworth (BSW) which is not found in any big box store or local hardware store. I saw this mentioned elsewhere in a tennis forum. I see that some others tried to purchase less expensive casters on amazon and stated that they work. I believe that they worked for them. But, they did NOT work for me. I also tried casters from big box stores and local hardware stores, and they did not work. I wasted too much time trying to find casters that would fit. The casters would screw in a few turns but then stop due to the special thread. I also tried a threaded insert but this also only screwed in a few turns. I decided to purchase the casters directly from Gamma Sports at a much higher price. I assume that they will have the special thread, but I have not received them yet. Otherwise, one could use a cheap tool and dye kit to re-thread the holes and use less expensive commercially available casters. Another option is to strip the thread by forcing the stem on the caster into the hole and stripping it. But then you would lose the ability to switch back to the use of the leveling feet if you ever decided to ditch the casters at a later date.I hope this helps someone else with their decision-making. There are many less expensive alternatives to purchasing this stand for converting a portable string machine. Overall, I am very pleased with the quality of this stand. Gamma did make a very nice product. I think the stand will last many years attached to the portable Gamma stringing machine.01/09/2024 Addendum - I received the 4 casters that I ordered directly from Gamma today. They are premium priced but have the BSW thread. They screw in easily to the premium base and work great!!! Overall, I am really pleased with the whole product - gamma progression ST II stringing machine, premium stand, and the 4 casters all from Gamma. I recommend raising my review to 4 1/2 stars from 4 stars now that everything is assembled. I withhold the 5 star rating because of the BSW thread issue, wasted time, and inability to purchase the casters with the stand at the time of purchase. Thank you.
