Not a 'planner', but a 'To-Do List'
I incorrectly assumed this would have more useful information in it regarding what to plant and when (considering that's right in the title). However, it reads more like a fancy to-do list. It starts off by saying, "Read your notes from the past growing season to assess how well the previous year's varieties, rotation, and cover crops performed." If you're just starting out, that's useless to you. Then, it has such general and unhelpful check boxes. Under 'Orchard' it states: "Select and order new trees and pest controls - traps and treatments - if you want them." That's it! Then there's a small place for you to make notes. It has small sections of information, but it's more of an 'at a glance' than anything with real substance. Also, the book falls apart without even trying. If it were actually a useful book, I might be a bit more disappointed. I've literally picked it up 3 times and already the front page is ripped on bottom. I'm not holding it by its binding and flapping it through the air pretending it's a bird! Just regular page turning while the book is sitting on the table. I purchased the The Encyclopedia of Country Living by Carla Emery and it's a significantly bigger and more in depth covering everything from types of plants, when to plant them, how to plant them, facts like: asparagus seeds are poisonous. Covers soap making, cheese making, seriously, it's almost overwhelming the amount of info that is in it, BUT, it's well laid out into decently digestible sections. It's pricey, but well worth the investment. Avoid this planner, get yourself an excel sheet and put the money towards the Country Living book.

I love it. I am an extreme planning person and I will be starting my homestead adventure in the near future and this book is everything I need to get started. I also bought "The backyard homestead" book aswell. I love it too.

A Homestead/ Country living outdoor Planner MUST have.
We have 2 acres and this helps break down what do during each season. I have learned so much already. Good explanation how to’s along with great planning. Plenty of room to write and lots of information to drive you to be excited about what's to come.

Exactly what we needed!
This planner helps you break down and focus on what you need to do. Being new to homesteading/farming, we needed a bit of guidance to show us what we should be doing each month. This is the book for that.

Good for Beginning Farmers
So far this book has been a tremendous help. We are new owners of a small farm. This book addresses so much about all facets of farming, I think it will be my primary reference source for farm related information.

The best of the Backyard Homesteaders!
I own quite a few of the Backyard Homestead books and this one is my favorite. What a great tool to have for a novice homesteader!! I can't wait for spring so I can use this book throughout planting season! Thank you!

Worthless
I bought this book to help with planning jobs on our homestead. It is pretty much worthless, too many subjects with practically no information on any of them.

Spiral bound format is poorly done...pages rip out
I recieved it in a timely manner and excitedly began to read it. It is chock full of great information. Only problem is the spiral bound format, I hoped would make it versatile, and durable, became problematic because the pages were all stuck together and ripped when trying to turn each page. Now I have a book with pages that fall out. And no easy way to fix them.
