Love this trash can
We really like the shape of this trash can, it fits well in our space. Also, the motion sensor works well, every single time using batteries. The odor filter that comes with the trash can works well to eliminate odors. This is the second trash can like this we've purchased from this company. The other one we had for a year and it worked perfectly until a family member bumped the lid hard accidentally when it was open, and broke the hinge backward so it couldn't open or close on its own.The trash can is very sturdy and holds up well to everyday use. It also looks nice, even a year later. It's definitely worth then price we paid for it.

Good trash can!
I use this trash can as a recycle bin in a tall kitchen cabinet. The sensor works OK but you have to pause just a split second while you wait for the lid to open. This can is really good if you have a phobia for touching lids; other than that I cannot recommend this as a main trash can in the kitchen because the automatic lid is gimmicky at best. The lid opens in less than a second with a quiet whir like a remote controlled toy car and shuts with a thud. It's a bit on the cheesy robotic side so I wouldn't put this out in my kitchen as the main trash can (I bought a Simplehuman 13-gallon stainless steel can for that). My only gripe is the can should have an option of opening well by hand and not relying always on the battery/power source.November 19, 2013 update - I upgraded my rating to 5 stars. This can lasted nearly 4 years until the sensor started to malfunction - it wouldn't open unless my hand remained in place for 3 seconds near the sensor (typically it only takes 1/2 second). I decided to buy a replacement can which surprisingly had updated features and was $25 cheaper than 4 years ago. The last inch of travel when the lid closes is more gentle and there is no more thud I mentioned above. The overall operation of the motor is quieter. The bottom of the can includes air holes to make pulling out the bag liner easier. There is also a activated charcoal filter located in the top. I don't need this feature because only paper / plastic recyclables go in this can but it is a nice touch.Still highly recommended as an auxiliary recyclable bin located in a tall kitchen cabinet. Still not recommended as a main kitchen trash can unless you really want to avoid touching trash can lids.

Arrived in perfect condition; works as expected
We have purchased several similar units and they seem to last about five years before the open/close gets weak, even with new batteries. This appears to be the newest design. Our unit includes the charcoal filter to absorb odors. It does seem to make a difference, so we plan to order more filters.

Good Product EXCEPT the description about the charging!
The way this product explanation was written, it looks as though there is a battery charger system, so you don't have to replace batteries. This is NOT the case! It is not a charger... you literally have to keep it plugged into an outlet if you are not using 4 Size D batteries. Also... the "charger" was NOT included with the trash bin! I had to buy one and THEN found out that it's not a charger at all.The Trash Bin is fine, but my old one only used 4 Size AA batteries (much easier to deal with), so I was kinda surprised that this one requires 4 Size D batteries.Armed with this knowledge, you can decide for yourself. The Trash Bin itself is nice, works well so far, and looks good in the kitchen. I will, of course, be returning the "charger" since who wants to have their trash bin plugged into an outlet?!

A nice product -- until it breaks and you try getting customer service
This is the second iTouchless can I've gotten, and I've learned my lesson -- no more dealing with this company. It's a great product when it works, as our first one (the earlier, less square version) did for a year or so. Then it stopped working. We still had enough faith to ordered this MX version along with the AC power accessory. We liked the design a little better (the bag ring was easier to work with), although it was slower to open. Then, within a couple months, it stopped opening altogether.I went to the iTouchless Web site and sent an email a couple weeks ago. No response. I called the company and left a voice mail message. No response. I called again and finally reached someone, who was very nice but kept me on the phone for 20 minutes asking questions -- the Amazon order number, the date of the order, the exact nature of the problem, my address, etc. -- and then informed me, after I provided all the info she asked, that the right person was busy and that she couldn't help me at the moment. She instructed me to send an email to the Warranty department explaining the problem all over again and providing a copy of the Amazon receipt. And if I did all this, what would happen? Well, she explained, within two business days I would get a reply. And then, assuming they approved, they would allow me to send in my faulty lid to be repaired. And I could wait, lidless, for them to fix it.How generous! I couldn't believe she wouldn't simply send me a new replacement lid -- I'm obviously not trying to scam a free new product from them, because the lid is useless unless I've already bought their can. But they expect me to go to the hassle of mailing their defective product back and waiting for them to fix it. Brought to mind the line from "Pride and Prejudice" about Lady Catherine: "What magnificent condescension!"So I'm done with iTouchless. I'm going to try to another company that makes a similar product (Nine Stars -- I see complaints about their customers service, too, but I refuse to give iTouchless any more of my money.)

Durable.
Motion detection is amazing, the lid stays completely closed, and it is easily cleanable. There is a filter that prevents smell from coming. It is either battery powered or you can plug it in. I have found the best results when plugging it in!

Works well, small footprint
We like this trash can. It works well and there is a perfect small niche in the kitchen for its size.

Great products, fits where I needed
Had to search carefully to place a bin with this size in my kitchen, matched the specs, size and also, I like how durable are the battery life (which requires 3 DD batteries FYI). It also has the feature to connect it directly to the power outlet which is great in case you won't like to use batteries.

Works great
I bought this garbage can hoping that it'd be a little more dog-proof than what I had. I used to have to put my garbage up on the counter whenever I left the house or I'd come home to a mess but I've had this garbage can for a month or two now and my two small dogs can't get into it. It's nice having one less thing to worry about in the morning.I also bought the "iTouchless ACNXSX AC Power Adaptor" with this garbage can and it works perfectly.

Great Garbage!
This can is great. I love the ability to use either batteries or an adapter, (although, I don't like the fact that you have to buy the adapter separately). The only thing I noticed is that every once in a while, if I haven't used the can in a while, the sensor doesn't open the lid. If I press the open button, then it gets "woken up" I guess, and then the sensor works great.... Overall I really like this garbage can and for the price iit is an excellent value.
