Nice, clear directions.
I am about 8 rows into this pattern. So far so good. The pattern is very clear and is quite enjoyable to work.

Beautiful and easy
I love that the pattern is easy to follow. This would be great to advance to the next skill level with minimal stress!

Great pattern, easy to follow, but not for beginners
I had some reservations about purchasing this pattern after reading the negative reviews posted here. However, I'm currently working on row 49 and am supremely grateful I chose to go with the positive reviews instead. For the people who had trouble following this pattern, I can only assume they were using an old version, because the one I downloaded in Feb 2018 is easy to follow, logical and has a lovely repeating pattern that makes it easy to memorize for the very long rows. I have three-decades-plus crochet experience and have created some of my own patterns. This pattern is not difficult, but is not for the beginner. The Shell-in-Shell pattern (which forms the majority of the interest in the look of the finished cape) may be confusing to someone who can't see which stitch is which at a moment's look. So far, there is one small flaw early in the written pattern itself which any moderately experienced crocheter will recognize and be able to alter to ensure the stitch count lines up correctly. It's worked from the neck in descending horizontal rows and then from the neck up to form the hood.If you don't normally read through a pattern before starting a project, I highly suggest you do so this time. If you get a good mental picture of how this cape is constructed, it'll make your stitching experience much easier. By the time I hit the fifth row I knew this pattern was a keeper. I also chose to use four different colors, creating broad bands of color instead of a solid or variegated. If your skills are rusty, I suggest sticking with one color. The tie offs, tie ons, and thread ends that form the arm holes may create confusion if you can't picture it before stitching as well as keep control of those dangling ends. Proper tie off and weaving skills are a must in order for the cape to hold its weight once completed.Once you complete the first ten or so rows, begin storing the cape on a hanger as if when worn. This cape is very heavy and needs to start stretching and draping itself as soon as possible. You don't want to get down to that last row and discover it's six inches longer than you wanted. Also, the border will not stretch at the same rate as the rows as they're worked in different directions. Without hanging for hours before finishing, the rows may hang wrong against the pull of the border once the cape settles into its final length. This is more important the longer you make it. I'm adding a good twenty inches to the pattern to make a cloak instead of a short cape. My cape has already stretched over two inches in length at row 45.I'm using Caron Simply Soft 4-weight yarn, which is very slippery, but super soft and feels great on the skin. According to calculations, my mid-calf cloak will end up using twelve skeins instead of the seven suggested in the pattern. Hopefully, I'll remember to update this review once I've finished the cloak.Bottom line, if you're looking for a lovely cape that won't break your brain to stitch, this is one of them. Happy stitching!

Made it for my daughter
It is beautiful and the instructions are well written. I loved making this and will start one for me after Christmas. I made the hood a little larger and lengthened it just a little. It turned out beautiful

Good Pattern, great cloak
Pattern Works up quickly. Has a few counts off, but otherwise well written! And the cloak *is* almost windproof!

Fun Project
This cape was fun to make. I finished it today adding vintage buttons. The pattern works well. Maybe not for beginners. On to a new project!!

Smaller than it looks but still beautiful
Beautiful pattern, easy to do. Smaller than the pictures on the pattern make it look. I love it. Very warm.
