This is a 12-volt DC fan that can work with a solar panel from 15 watts to 80 watts. This is very good fan in all respects: Airflow, sound intensity, vibration and efficiency. Quite suitable for solar application. Works GREAT with 100W, (~)12V panel but will work with much smaller panels too. When wired - to black and + to blue the airflow is towards the wires, the screen, towards you as pictured. The good quality motor designed for a demanding environment. It can be used it in my greenhouse. Does the job nicely and will fulfill a multitude of diverse applications. This item is Recommend buy from most customers! The dimension of the fan is 7" x 7"x 3" designed for maximum air flow. The fan can be installed in an opening such as a gable vent. Kit come with 4 brackets to install the fan. Instructions Included. Full refund if the product is defective.

Worth it
I am very pleased with the performance of this fan. You have to run wire and attach to a solar panel. It worked immediately. There are multiple internet videos on how to hook up solar, so that helped. I just suggest that the fan, wiring and solar panel could be sold as a kit and I believe more people would purchase. My son and I installed this in a chicken coop. I also purchased two sets and installed the second one in a greenhouse. It does take two people.

Quality item that works very well.
Quality build, thoughtful mounting, factory balanced blades, which is a very nice touch. Runs off a 50w12-28v panel just fine, but really wants a100w to stretch it's legs. Given straight 12vdv power it pulls around 6.68 amps which is about an 1.5 amps more than a 100w panel puts out at perfect optimal conditions. 10/10 would purchase again.

Definitely worth it.
Recently built an 8ft×20ft plastic storage shed. Since there is at this point no power, I decided to explore the solar option to keep it cooler until that time that power is installed. The shed had two 8in gable vents too which the fan fit perfectly. I paired it with the Renogy 160w monocrystalline panel. It's been in use now through July and August with humid mid 90s temps and I am very pleased with the performance of this fan. It is very efficient and moves a sufficient volume of air, enough to drop the internal temp by 20 degrees. I wired it as a direct connection, with no battery or inverter. I would definitely recommend it.

kicks out a nice bit of air, works well with a 17v 100w panel here in Hawaii
Reviewing: Amtrak Solar Exhaust Fan 7" DC Fan, Most Powerful Fan Motor, 25 Year Warrantyhey, a very cool product, in more ways than one.I love using solar panels to directly drive DC loads for air movement and water pumping, it’s about the best use I know of for what’s an inherently intermittent power source, and two of the few which uses that intermittent power fully rather than wasting a bunch. I enjoy listening to and feeling the output of this fan change as clouds blow across the sun and then clear again. This fan moves a decent amount of air, and amounts to the only moving part in a chain of kinetic energy beginning near the core of the sun more than 10,000 years ago. (takes a long time for photons to reflect to the sun’s surface for radiation). I use it for room ventilation and will soon re-purpose it to attic ventilation, using a 100w panel. Need to take care and get a panel which puts out a nominal 17-18v, which will drive a 12v motor well under load. Most of the cheaper ones these days are rated for higher voltages for roof and inverter use, and you wind up paying a premium for smaller panels with 17v output. But they’re still not bad for the many years of service you get.I’m also impressed at the very long warranty on this product, 25 years… longer than I’m likely to be around, though that does raise the question of how long the company supplying the warranty will be around. Still, a long warranty is a good thing.I recommend this, wish I had more of ‘em and I may just have to get some.

Works great for my wood shop
I have a metal out building that I use as my wood shop but it can get warm in there during the summer months so I wanted to add a solar fan to help keep the inside a bit cooler during the day, especially when I'm not out there working and it's all closed up.I connected this fan to a cheap 20 watt solar panel that I had laying around. I didn't expect much air movement but I was surprised, even at 20 watts, this fan moved a bit of air.It was easy to mount and connect and I'm going to pick up an 80 watt panel so this fan can reach it's full potential.

I am very happy with my purchase.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Very good looking and strong fan. I am using 25w solar panel and it works with this fan with no issue at all. Perfect fit for my storage shed.

Overpriced and good luck on that warranty.
Look up 7" 12volt 80w fan and you will find the same product for a fraction of the price. The China made fan can have some defects. It is hit or miss with what you get but not worth $69.00. Its worth $15. You"ll be lucky to get a 2.5 year warranty with this seller. You will pay shipping if you want a warranty.
