TOOTH TRUTHS
I have read many of the Sally Huss books for young children; this is one of her best. Most children are not particularly mindful about taking care of their teeth. This book makes it so easy for them to understand their importance and the necessity of care. In adorable rhymes, Huss explains why some common favorite animals of children need teeth to live. Then she moves on to the child to make things personal. Without teeth, we couldn't eat many of our favorite foods like peanut butter and jelly, birthday cake or cookies. At the end of the book Huss shows the importance of teeth in smiling and making friends. I love her analogy of a smile being like a postcard that lets others know how you feel. For all these reasons, we need to take care of our teeth.Bright illustrations and perky rhymes with a multicultural emphasis help the young child get the message clearly. Parents, dentists, librarians and teachers of young children need to include this book in their collections.

References too many sweets
The bulk of the book notes all the delicious foods a kid couldn't eat without teeth. But half the foods are sweets. I understand thatthe threat of missing out on cookies is greater than the threat of missing out on broccoli. But I am trying to encourage healthy eating.

That they may learn young and be motivated to brushing their teeth their whole like. And the big why's hey need to keep this routine all their days. For this reason I feel that it needs five stars. I received the book for free and given it an honest review. Great work Sally! By Angela

Great for preschoolers!
Who needs teeth? I read this book to my 3-4 yr old preschool during our dental hygiene day. The kids loved it and we talked about other animals who need teeth and why. Other teachers in the four and five year old classes have borrowed it and enjoyed the book as well.

Once again, quite good
Our granddaughter is drawn like a magnet to all of Sally's books. Sally Huss is delightful and gets the point across in ways that makes kids sizzle with excitement! This is another one of her very good books.

A Very Wise Book -- That's Fun!
This book is just adorable! Our kids loved it and it gave them more of incentive to take care of their teeth than just their parents nagging them to do so. It explained why in very simple terms that teeth are needed and should be cared for. Thanks to the author for this wonderfully charming reminder. We recommend.
