Raw Brazil Nuts (No Shell) 5lb Bag Bulk - Sincerely Nuts

I ordered these on Wednesday. They arrived on Friday. Much sooner than the first expected day of arrival. They also give a link so you can track your order. I really appreciate that.The first thing I did was weigh the bag on my food scale. It was 5.08 lbs. I'm sure some of it was bag BUT I think I also got a few extra nuts : )They are in a thick plastic bag that defies puncture or ripping during transit.I opened the bag and tasted the first one - absolutely delicious and fresh. I divided them into 5 bags and put 4 in the freezer. I sampled the nuts at different "levels" and they are just as delicious and fresh at the top, middle and bottom of the 5 lb bag.I adore Brazil nuts but they are a big pain in the neck to crack and open. All of the work has been done for me and these are raw. Many times, Brazil nuts are in a combination of fried mixed nuts. They are horrible.Raw Brazil Nuts are a perfect source of Selenium and healthy fats. Food really can be medicine and this is more of a treat than medicine!The majority of the nuts are whole too. I could never do that. There are so few broken ones, I couldn't even give them a number.Absolutely a Thumbs UP!p.s. If "You Are What You Eat", I'm a happy nut.p.p.s. Just about to order my 3rd 5 lb bag. My last order was almost a year ago. I eat two whole nuts every morning for selenium dose. I could pig out and eat a pound, they are so delicious but don't want to OD on selenium!I keep the big bag in the deep freeze and keep a small supply filled in the cabinet to eat from.You will get an off tasting nut once in a while, which is common with most nuts you buy in bulk. What are they gonna do, taste each nut for quality before they package it?

We had been getting Brazil nuts pieces from a certain on-line NUTS retailer, but these whole, unbroken nuts are a better bargain and, in my opinion, are better quality nuts: fresh and tasty. Five stars...I'll be ordering more.------------------UPDATE 1/25/15: Okay, I ordered a second 5-pound bag in December and they were absolutely nasty. I couldn't tell if they were spoiled or tainted since they had a strong chemical like taste to them. Amazon was understanding and gave me a full refund telling me to dispose of the nuts (which I did giving them to the squirrels in the yard...don't know if they like them of not, though). I would downgrade this from 5 stars to 2.5 stars, but since that is not an option I'll give it three stars.

Delivery is always great, package is always still secure each time I order and the Brazil Nuts are the freshest I have ordered in over a year. I have tried Nuts.com and Bulkfoods.com and other nuts on Amazon and Sincerely Nuts are truly the best. Brazil nuts are not cheap and you will know when they are not as fresh as they could be, keeping in mind travel time, packaging and shelf life. I try to order 5 lbs a month.

We bought these and had them delivered by next day air and received them today. They taste terrible because they are old. We cannot use these Brazil Nuts for a snack. I looked for a freshness date on the package but did not see one. I have bought the 2 pound bags from them with no problem and I have bought the 5 pound bags of walnuts, but I am going to switch to another company. Freshness matters.

Three of us have eaten through 3 pounds of these nuts so far in two weeks and we haven't found one bad nut. I'm glad I bought 5 pounds of them because the young people in my house go through them like candy. Very fresh and tasty. Now I grab a piece of fruit and half a coffee mug of brazil nuts and I have my breakfast ready to eat on the way to work.

November 2016 Update: I waited a few months thinking that the rancid nuts would be sold and fresh ones in. I then placed a new order. Same results - 5 lbs of inedible nuts and another $40 wasted.,I have ordered these 4 times in the past and the nuts were great. However, the last order was mealy, rancid, and inedible. Not sure if orders should be put on hold until the company has time to get rid of defective product or what.

The nuts were delivered on a very hot day. The temperature was 86 in the shade. The box was very hot on arrival. On opening it I found the nuts too hot to hold in the bare hand. When they had cooled I ate some. Visually they appeared good , but they were soft and mushy when I chewed them. Apparently they had cooked in the heat and were no longer raw,. I guess they shoud not be ordered when hot days are forecast.
