Sturdy with a non slip surface.
A sturdy ramp with a good non slip surface, even when wet. My ten year old took to it in a few minutes, after I laid it at a slight angle, from a step and had her walking up and down it. Downside it is no lightweight but manageable. Would have given it 5 stars but for the securing strap, the press stud fitting is not up to the job. As soon as you lift the ramp into an upright position the weight of the lower section forces the strap undone.

This is a fantastic and brilliant purchase
I just found out that my darling frenchie has intervertebral disc disease. I looked at many different ramps and ultimately chose this one. If you spend as little as possible you'll often end up getting a ramp that wobbles, is too heavy and cumbersome to carry and put up and down and the dog can end up slipping on the poorly designed surface. Not to mention a dog that is unnecessarily frightened because he or she wont feel safe and secure. I looked at reviews of many ramps and this one had the best reviews of the ones i looked at. I can see why. This purchase is a thousand percent brilliant. I found out lots of things and it helped me reading others detailed reviews so heres mine If it helps you.I am a weakling of a 5ft 4" woman haha and i can manage carrying this around fine. Its easy to open up and close (telescopic sliding) and carry about. And i have to carry it up and down stairs too coz i live in an upstairs flat.My best friend who this is for is a French bulldog.. He gets really frightened of anything that moves or wobbles.. One even teeny wobble and thats him put off for good with alot of fear. i wanted something that was sturdy to minimise his chances of being unnecessarily scared. Also of course it needs to last for his lifetime.I have a citroen picasso people carrier. It fits perfectly without a wobble placed the middle i get it positioned and check its all wobble free before taking him up it.. I worked out i need about 2m access space for it and him getting on and off when I go places. Haven't tested I'm right yet though! .I ultimately decided to take out one of the side back seats and he walks up the ramp, walks to his secure and safe car bed in the middle seat and gently steps in. (he used to have a booster type one he jumped in and out of only a week ago so major changes here in every area of our life including car trips, adjusting to management of this awful disease)Firstly i checked the ramp was suitable to take my weight (it does several times over) and sat winston watching me as i went on my hands and feet (not knees... The surface would kill human knees!) and sat in the boot pretending to munch a meat chew having a great time. If anyone saw me, it must have been a sight haha. I go down again and offer him a piece of chew. I was relaxed and pretended i was having fun ('oooo look a treat up here!') That was it for the first time.Next day i do the same but this time offer the chew to him so he has to step on to it. The surface is brilliant. Non slip. He put his front paws on it. That was that for that day.The next day he stands fully on it when i offered a chew half way up. He didnt take rhe chew but instead ran up. I was holding his lead. It was not controlled.. But i hadnt figured it out til he ran down... We Chilled in the boot for a while with treats. So yeah, When he came down he ran again and jumped off the side oops absolutely a no no and omg no that's what we must avoid and why we have this ! My mistake and it was too fast. I am new to all this. So today I made sure to hold the handle on his harness for more reassurance and control and I guided him up giving him treats along the way real slow and guiding down did the same slowly and relaxed. Much better. He had a chance to feel the sturdiness under his feet. No wobbles!! . We are cracking it! I decided to keep his most favourite chews broken into bite sized bits so he will associate the ramp with good and delicious things! It will keep getting easier until he wont need gently coaxing up and down with treats and I'll have one ready in his car bed when he gets there. And one when we step inside the front door after he comes down Thats my long term plan! Will all be second nature soon!I couldn't recommend this ramp enough. I knew purchasing the best ramp i could afford would make all the difference all round. I have been very stressed with him being so ill and with all the big lifestyle changes i have to make immediately and helping my beautiful winston adjust to in regards to it all and having this ramp is just turned out to be no stress like it could have been if it were wobbling or slippy for him.

Brilliant
Bought this as my two dogs are getting on and sometimes struggle to jump in and out of the car. It has taken them a good few months to get really comfortable with it so don't be disheartened if that's the case for you, they now happily walk up it. It's very study and strong. It needs some silicone spray on the runner though to enable it to slide open more easily and since doing this, it is really easy. Only downfall is I couldn't manage this and the dogs on my own as you need both hands to open it and set it up. It's very good though and a solid investment

Brilliant ramp amazing customer service
Our Newfoundland has used this ramp every day for the last two and a half years. Recently the handle sheared a bolt and we asked if the company could send us a new one. They replied immediately with a whole new handle and set of fixings. This ramp is brilliant for our very large dog and I have no hesitation in recommending this Company and their excellent products and customer service

Fabulous ramp
After days of studying hundreds of dog ramps online we are delighted that we chose this British one made by Hewitt & Blue.It is really sturdy with no flex and therefore didn't frighten our labrador when she used it for the first time yesterday. The company also includes a really helpful guide which we followed and all hints and tips worked like a charm. Our dog sits on the back seat so we put one seat flat and covered it with her usual blankets, then she walks up the ramp into the boot straight through, turns left and sits down. We bought this as she has severe elbow dysplasia and we cant have her jumping out of the car any longer.

Excellent but Cumbersome
When the product arrived I was very pleased with it, it appears sturdy and easy to extend with a good non slip surface. I have a Mazda 6 estate and two Rough Collies, but the ramp doesn’t work well on this car. It won’t hook anywhere on the rear of the car and slips off the car as soon as the dog steps on it unless one of the adults keep there foot on the bottom of the ramp. This makes it impossible for one of us to use it alone with the dogs. The next problem we have is that the ramp doesn’t seem to have anything to hold it at the desired length so we have to use it at full extension. This isn’t a problem unless somebody parks close to the back of the car while your walking the dogs. Finally this ramp is in two long sections which does cause issues storing it in the car. You can’t store it in the boot compartment with the dogs as it could fall on them while travelling so it needs to go across the backseat of the car. This isn’t a problem in most cars unless you have leather seats like our car. If it moves on the seat it scuffs and if we turn it the other way up the non slip tape is rough and scratches the leather. It could do with a sturdy bag supplied with the item. I can’t get it to attach to our other car in any way that the dogs can use it without it slipping. Unfortunately it has taken the dogs to long to decide they won’t use it so I can’t return the item. It will make a good shelf in the garage if nothing else.
