Even the evil have a story to be told!
"Is any one ever born wicked;or perhaps they have wickedness thrown upon them?" Glinda... Wicked ... The musical. This is probably one of my most favored lines in ALL history of theater. Lee Hayes explores this thought in a manner that will leave you breathless in his book The Bad Seed. So often literature is created from the perspective of the protagonist, but what of the antagonist? What are their stories? How did their life's choices lead them to the moment that we the audience meet them? The Bad Seed is two stories of two men that by moral standards are reprehensible. Blues Carmichael a man so scorned by his search for love that he seeks only to preserve himself. Brandon Heart a teenager who has allowed the lines of fantasy and reality to become so blurred that you the reader can barely tell the difference. I'm SERIOUS! One of the traits that for me make a marvelously, compelling character is; the moment when I root for the character, when I want the character to get everything they so desire, when I want them to make the right decisions. I found myself praying for Blues salvation, hoping that all obstacles were cleared without so much a misstep. I knew that there would hell to pay if otherwise. Brandon Heart captured me with his youthful confidence. He possessed a self ownership that I had to sit back and admire... D$&N at one point I wanted to be Brandon. Let me just say that innocence can be disguised in a high school letter man's jacket. The Bad Seed is everything you would want in a psychological thriller. Your every sense is aroused. You can feel the wind on you face, feel the boil of the blood , smell the sex in the air, feel the stab of the knife. It makes Fatal Attraction, Single White Female, Dead Calm, and Basic Instinct look like they fell out of the Disney Vault. I had to ask "WHY AM I JUST DISCOVERING LEE HAYES?" Thanks Lee for a thrill of a read... I will definitely read your other works!!!! TARON THANKS FOR HIPPING A BROTHA UP!!!!.

Lee has done it again!
Bad Seed is a book made up of two novellas, with the first story taking up about 60% of the book. The first story begins at a defining moment in Blues' life in high school then jumps forward to present day where Blues is I'm a loveless marriage waiting for his big pay day. Blues battles with unresolved issues from his past and a surprise visitor who threatens his dreams of a handsome pay out once his husband dies. The story allows us to get inside Blues' head and follow along to see if his plan to get paid will work out or if something unanticipated will ruin it.The second story follows an attractive young athlete I'm his final year of high school. He develops an obsession with one of his teachers and will stop at nothing to be with him. He allows his infatuation to take control of his life which leads to unforeseen events.I'm a big fan of Lee's and he's written another great book. While the second story was a bit predictable, he made up for it in the epilogue!

Entertaining and Dynamic
I recived a Kindel for my birthday this year. I must say "Bad Seed" had me running to the charger so much that I had to place it by my bed because I didn't want to be interrupted during one of my reading sessions. When I finished the book at 0300 AM yesterday morning, I had to jump out of bed and personally thank the author via Facebook for such an entertaining piece of work. I loved the way he wove the stories, just when I started thinking yeah, but what about the other character? what became of him? he wrapped it all up in a bow and presented the finished product to me like a nice Thanksgiving dinner. I love the way Mr. Lee Hayes writes his tales they are hard hitting and the characters are bold and brazen leaving you to wonder what in the hell is he going to do next? I would like to say more, but I'm at work and I don't want to get caught writing this review. I can't wait to go back to his early work and read his first Book!!

An amazing and exciting turn of events!
Lee Hayes has tip-toed and sneaked an unsuspecting, awesome story on us! His knack of spinning a tale jam-packed with every emotion imaginable, as well as immense intrigue and serious suspense is unsurpassed in this tasteful and witty masterpiece. The quick pace and the bright colorful characters create a swirling maze of events that are so on point...you won't be able to put the book down for fear of missing the next unbelievable set of circumstances.I actually felt the story as each individual layer unfolded, bringing more drama and yet even more exciting layers to peel back, beginning with the suspicious death of Jabari. My heart raced in anticipation of characters getting caught in their chilling schemes against one another, and just when I thought things were coming to a finish...I was hit with a surprise ending that left my mouth literally hanging open (I had to grab my phone to spread the word).THE BAD SEED by Lee Hayes will leave you craving...no, it will leave you DEMANDING more. I'll definitely be standing by watching and waiting! Great job Mr. Hayes!

Simply the best!
I have read and followed Lee Hayes since Passion Marks 1. The Bad Seed is a very special treat from Mr. Hayes. You'd have to get a copy to find out why. This has been one of the best books of 2011 for me. I have seen this author grow in his writing, as I have grew with it as well. The book is very well written, and isn't full of stupid leave it to the imagination metaphors. It does however fondle your mind, and strokes every sense in your body, and no matter what level your life/relationship is in you will be quite intrigued by this writing. To Lee,You have been a great inspiration in my life through your writings. From being that innocent teenager sneaking to read Passion Marks 1, to both of my deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, and you have encouraged me to be the lover I am now to my long time partner today. Thanks.-Kavalhi
