Not up to current food photography standards
I'm a sucker for all things food and travel. I'm traveling to India next year, so I was excited to order this book.Pros:1) There are recipes.2) There are some vibrant photos.Cons:1) The photography just isn't up to the standard that you find in other food and cultural resources. It feels more like sitting with your neighbor and seeing their travel photos. Some of the pictures are lively and colorful, and some are dull. None of them really get me feeling like I'm living the experience of being in India.2) The book doesn't seem organized at all. Not by region or type of food. Randomly throughout the book there are pictures of sugarcane and sugarcane juice. I would think one photo of that would be sufficient.Overall, this would have been a dreamy book for me in the 20th century. But with Instagram, Youtube and other resources, the bar is a lot higher now in terms of the quality of photography that I'd expect in a published book.

just had to get this book to find out some of the things we so enjoyed so we could attempt to recreate them at home
After an evening at the night food market in Old Delhi, just had to get this book to find out some of the things we so enjoyed so we could attempt to recreate them at home. The highlight of our stay in Delhi was the visit to the night food market...we nibbled our way through the evening and just had the time of our lives...found many of our very favorite treats in this book. When we were absolutely stuffed, our guide said we'd next be going to dinner!!! We managed through a sizzling tandoori treat and then rolled back to our hotel. This little book lets us relive our wonderful Delhi adventure.

This book is an undiscovered gem!
Some readers may find fault with the book because it doesn't include street food from all parts of India. To me the this is hands down the best recipe book about Indian street food, with pictures that really capture the essence of Indian street food. It's really amazing that the book's author is an Israeli journalist living in India. The author deserves a Pulitzer prize for cookbook photo journalism!

Great photos
Great photos of India, but the recipes are not specific enough for me....I cook Indian food very frequently and find that Julie Sahni's recipes, although long, make for delicious outcomes each and every time compared to those in this book.

Lots of pics
This is a great book for my wife. She is Indian, but knows very little of the cooking culture. She will have a good time flipping through this book.

Street food
We wanted to see what street food was about as it has started to appear at some venues. My partner is from HK so street food is a big thing also Malaysia has a wide variety. The book is going to explored as vegetarian snacks make a change in diet.

A bit disappointed
I was disappointed with the contents, in particular comparing it to the book Thai street food by Thompson orBalinese street food by von Holzen.
