Cheapest that I found, why are these so expensive?
I just wanted to find something to mitigate light spread in my basement home theater. These were the cheapest that i could find (still too expensive for what they are though). They are matte black, they come with a plastic protective sheet on one side. I suggest leaving this on until you have all the tiles installed because they are extremely easy to mark up and are pretty annoying to clean. There were a couple that were damaged due to shipping. I have no doubt they would have replaced them if i had asked them to, but i just used those tiles for the edges of the room that needed cut to size anyway. They are thin but not so thin that they are unable to support their own weight. They strike a balance with flexibility and rigidity so they are easy to install but still rigid enough without any noticeable sag.I’d say they are some kind of plastic composite type of material. It is extremely easy to crack or chip them if you apply too much force to them. It shouldn’t be much of an issue since drop ceiling tiles have more than enough wiggle room to get into place If cut to the correct size.Note: if using in a home theater and replacing existing fiberglass drop tiles, you will probably want additional acoustic/sound absorption in your room. These are rigid and hard, sounds do echo well off of them.Even though these were the cheapest black ceiling tiles i could find and they serve their purpose well enough, i still do not understand why these are so expensive. There is nothing special about them. If you already have tiles and just want to change to black, I’d suggest just painting your existing tiles rather than buying these.

Absolutely LOVE
Replaced all of the old cream drop ceiling tiles. It’s so smooth and modern with these black. They are extremely easy to install. When you see the thickness don’t steer away like I was going to. This is PVC not your original drop ceiling tiles. These are so much easier to clean and you don’t have to worry about water damage with these. I can only rate this a five star but I’d rate ten star if I could. Just ordered the last of the tiles today and can’t wait.

Clean look
If you have a business and are thinking of buying these, DO it! These make everything so much cleaner looking. Kind of a pain because they create static when taking off plastic cover but all in all a great buy even thought the price isn’t wonderful.

uDecor was a wonderful business to work with, wish I could say the same about AMAZON
Although the product was not what I was expecting, that was consumer error. The uDecor business was friendly, helpful, and considerate to work with. I will be going straight to their website for further purchases.Way to go uDecor!

Instant improvement!
These look great for our little guest room! They were sturdier/thicker than I expected and my husband installed them right over the existing tiles for ease and added noise insulation. The whole job took him under an hour and they were easy to cut. What an improvement from the ugly standard tiles.

Look great and so easy to work with... cost? - sigh.
Where to begin.....??I wanted to go black a while back to remove the “glare and brightness” when watching movies...Then recently some unexpected water required that I swap a number of tiles. What better time to go black than now?!?After looking and thinking and reading and looking and reading and thinking.... I went with these...Pros:So easy to work with... just score with an utility blade and snap... even circles were a snap (pun intended) - But cut them in strips = much easier to score the circle then cut individual strips and snap each out individually - (example photo of the in ceiling speaker)They look good and just as easy to hang as traditional - easier actually because you can tweak/bend them in a pinch....Cons:I did find four that were scratches and scored being usable out if the box (even with the protective peel away ). Luckily I was able to use them for some of the cut down pieces. The PRICE - for what you are getting- >$5 a tile is a bit much....Let’s discuss what you ARE getting - you’re getting a 24”x24” piece of black “plastic” to say the least. It’s about 1/8” thick...With that said they don’t do much for insulating sounds.... and they really will not support the weight of anything.... so if you’re like me and have cables, speaker wire etc “free floating “ - these may sag...My recommendation - (not that it’s worth much) if you already have traditionally ceiling tiles - KEEP THEM.... and use these as an underlay...Not to mention that you remove the added work of removing the original tiles....If if if they were half the cost- - I’d be ALL OVER THESE and promote the heck out of them (hint hint) I still have one more room I could do....
