Monster Book of Manga Drawing: 150 Step-by-Step Projects for Beginners

I have very mixed feelings about this book. The author/artist who wrote it is well-known for his creative little RPG figures that you print and fold into usable standees for gaming. His art style suits this very well. Seeing the art, as presented here in this book, isn't as flattering to his work. He doesn't use much detail, and the proportions of drawn characters are questionable at times. I'm happy to support the author, but I feel that artists, especially budding artists just starting out, can find much better books to learn how to draw in a manga or comic-book style.

This book is actually a collection. Mr. David writes in a easy to read and easy to understand way, the value I have received from this book is off the charts. Okumarts also does table top RPG paper miniatures and has a couple games as well. I suggest you check out his website, his patreon, and his products on drivethruRPG. His stuff is top notch.

This book is sort of an overview of David Okum's other books. In that it contains some of the same references from those books combined into one larger volume. Still there is plenty of new stuff and I enjoy using it as a reference/practice drawing random things book. I also find it easier to mashup several different themed pictures to get something new by refernecing several of the different categories.

3 stars for content, and added an extra star for volume. It's not my style at all, and most of these character pictures are useless to me personally, or I would have given it five.

I ordered this as a gift for my 8 year old son. He draws daily and is always trying to learn new shapes or figures to draw. This book is amazing. So many options of characters/creatures to draw. The steps are simple enough for him to follow and not too complicated to read. This book is def worth the price paid for. It's lengthy enough to keep him busy for awhile.

This is a great book. I purchased it for my kindle. There was so much I loved about it. It shows you step by step how to draw all different kinds of characters. So much info.

My grandson is thrilled. He uses it often and has progressed in his drawings. It arrived in very good condition.

Nice reference book. Not so instructional.
