Certainly not for professional use, mediocre photos, but excellent price! Would recommend it for anyone wanting the extra zoom!
So I love it, and I hate it. I'll get right to the point and be as straightforward as possible. The lens quality isn't great, you get what you pay for, I cannot stress that enough. It takes very mediocre photos—the focusing is all done manually, and the further away the object your taking a photo of is, the harder the focusing becomes. We're talking less then millimeters of adjusting will cause blurry to focused images, and even once you think you've nailed the right focus, your larger 27+ inch monitor or TV, will tell you it wasn't perfect after all. This means you better have great eyesight, and a bit of luck. So once you miraculously get it fully in focus, the image result is just "okay". The comparison I'd make between a really high quality (expensive) lens and this lens would be the same as comparing 4K quality video to DVD or even VHS at times (extreme case). I'm over exaggerating slightly of course to make my point, but you do get that sense when looking at your photos. The higher your zoom level, the worse the result—especially when using the 2x converter. Keep in mind the f-stop is a high f/8 all the way up to a staggering f/16, and I don't think that even includes the 2X converter! So be prepared to crank up that ISO level, and bust out that tripod.HOWEVER, and this is important, the price IS under $300, and I'm comparing this to a quality lens that costs in the $8,000-$12,000+ range. So all that in mind, this lens lets you do some really great things with very little money. If your okay with sacrificing some quality, and you don't expect your photos to be published in any magazines, then I would honestly recommend this lens to you. I had a great time testing it out, shooting objects very far away, and some much closer, I have to say I was satisfied with the results. It takes decent photos, for a very decent price. I was also happy it came with a travel case, a 2X converter, and the T-mount.A few other things I'd like to mention as just an FYI. The lens is long, especially once it's fully extended (23in or 58.5cm), and it's heavy. I would HIGHLY suggest a tripod, AND a remote for taking the photos. Any contact with the camera while trying to capture an image will cause the camera to shake, and take a slightly blurry photo. Do yourself a favor and invest in a remote controller for your camera. It's very affordable and makes all the difference. Also be very careful with the T-Mount attachment area. I have had bad luck with an exact model, where the inner circle cracked or broke and began to just spin non-stop. This made handing the camera, even on a tripod—very very difficult. A replacement will need to be purchased, so just be extra careful. The lens itself is also not overly smooth in its operation. Sliding the lens in and out to adjust zoom isn't a very smooth process. It feels like there's scratching on the inside, and that is not a great feeling! Doesn't seem to be any visible markings, or scratches, but never-the-less, very unsettling each and every time I make the adjustments.I'd say overall, if your an amateur photographer, looking to just get a closer look, then I would honestly recommend this lens. It's a hard price to beat, and gets the job done! If your looking to be proud of your photos, and maybe even thinking of printing out portraits —this isn't the lens for you. The result will be average at best, and that award winning magazine will have to keep searching for their front page photo. I've taken a series of photos to help you out, and if you've got questions, I'm more than happy to help. I'd also like to mention purchasing from Big Mike's has been a super experience, and I certainly have no reasons not returning as a repeat customer! Hope you found this helpful, good luck!

Do not waste your money on this lens.
Do not waste your money on a lens like this. Very poor photo quality and very difficult to operate. The lens is also not very well made. Spend the money and purchase a good lens such as a Sigma 150-600 zoom telephoto lens that has image stabilization and auto focus. This lens does not have those very important options. It falls into the old saying of you get what you pay for. A cheap lens is not going to perform the same as an expensive lens.

Work OK
Auto-focus does not work as it does not have the contacting connecting ring for a Canon Rebel IOS T2. It needs to be mounted to a tripod in order to focus. The pictures do come out quite well with some practice.

This is an OK lens. Image is not really crisp and clear over a great distance. I would probably been better off spending more money for a better quality lens.
