The Bass Grimoire Complete Sheet music – Big Book, January 1, 1996

There's something about this format I adore. It's a book that gets me more excited to learn about bass than my regular learning materials. It doesn't even show me how to practice to get better, or really any pattern tricks. It's just an extensive reference book with charts and a guide on how to read them all. Maybe I could owe it to the clever branding and format, or perhaps the allure of the massive wealth of knowledge keeps me hungry to know more? Either way, I can't help myself. It's enough for me to spread gospel about it everywhere I go.I'll say this to be fair: no, it's not the greatest thing you're missing out on to be a great bass player. It is, however, a rewarding and enriching experience if you pursue it.

This is not an exercise book like I was looking for but it is a wealth of knowledge. I kept it and gave it 5 stars because, unexpectedly, it is an excellent theory book for the bassist.

This grim has really opened my eyes to the possibilities of the bass. Thank you!

I LOVE this book. I've been playing for a long time. I have your basic understanding of music theory. I've always struggled with changing modes while I'm jamming. The theory section of this book is fantastic. It offers you three or four different ways to think about theory, so you can find the one that resonates with you and go with it. Plus, there are modes in this book that I didn't even know existed. Have you heard of a Hungarian major? You will if you get this.

Just got this book last week. Only had a browse through the content of this book so far. From what I can see, this is a very comprehensive scale and modal reference book and if you put in the effort and time to learn the material, I can see there is a lot of knowledge to be gain.I took one star off due to the fact that this is not as reader friendly as other books in this category. I see this book as being more geared towards intermediate and advanced players.

Came expediently and in excellent condition. The book itself is an amazing source for learning the bass, a definite for all levels of bass players.

This book, as well as the other Grimoires, is great for unlocking little tips and secrets in a clear and logically define way. If you take the time to read each part of the book you will come away with a knowledge of theory in music. I bought this for my children. I am a piano player and I have used the Keyboard Grimoire for years! What a tool to use! You will learn all about scales, runs, progressions, placement. So much easy to use information!

I would only recommend this book to people who have a solid understanding for how music theory works and simply wish to brush up on their skills, it work great as a teaching guide for music students! At times my teacher would reference pages from this book to me during lessons.

I love this book it takes while to navigate but held within is a world of harmonic information vital to todays modern bassist The book arrived in pristine condition and on time..... well pleased
