Mishima's genius distilled in traditional dramatic form
I'm so glad I saved Yukio Mishima's Five Modern Nō Plays as an after-binge Tokaji to my traversal of his complete works.Ever since reading Mishima's dramatic piece, Dōjōji, in his collection, Death In Midsummer, I knew that his voice would be inspired, utterly distilled in staged form. All of his innately characterful evocations of human relations & thought, given voice. His essential fealty to the traditions of the ancient Nō format, proscenium & gesture are another pinnacle of MIshima's genius in such an unexpected traditional vessel. So beautifully essential, so often a shock to the system, to the fabric of drama & revelation.

Unusual and complex drama
Great modern plays based in the noh drama. Unusual and complex plots. Very enjoyable and rich enough to read over many more times.

terrible layout hard to read
I don’t understand why the layout of this book is so weird. Some of the sentences are covered by black blocks…It is so uncomfortable to read.

Stains on the cover
I was expecting to recieve a brand new book. It has horrible stains on the cover and I am extremely dissapointed. This was supposed to be a birthday gift, so I can't return it and get another one on time. I cannot say anything about the content, but I am beyond angry about the stains on the cover. Waste of money and time.
