The rebellious rarities collection FLASHBACK spits out a healthy dose of cool reboots, a smattering of back to basics originals and an alternate take on I LOVE ROCK & ROLL backed by the SEX PISTOLS. Glammy goodies like ALICE COOPER's BE MY LOVER and DAVID BOWIE's REBEL REBEL, 1910 FRUITGUM COMPANY's bubble-licious INDIAN GIVER, and THE SHEEP's ultra obscure garage gem HIDE AND SEEK all get big bad black hearted interpretations. JETT's motorcycle mama attitude and grimy growl also decimate THE PISTOLS' label-bashing anthem EMI (renamed MCA), BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN's LIGHT OF DAY (from her lone film role), and RUNAWAYS oldie CHERRY BOMB (backed here by Riot GRRRL group L7). Cruder and certainly less predictable than her official all covers platter THE HIT LIST, FLASHBACK is a "greatest hits" for JOAN JETT fans who like to boogie outside the classic rock box.RATING: FOUR SHAGS

This is a great addition to our Joan Jett and the Blackhearts collection. There is quite a range of styles represented here and it's nice to see different sides of her work. The sound quality is somewhat inconsistent from one cut to another, but I still feel it's worth owning. The notes on the different cuts from both Jett and Kenny Laguna are fun.

I love Joan Jett.. This album has some classic songs.. Along with some rare material.. Every song on this Cd is great.. A must have..

Some different songs from Joan that I hadn't heard from her. Good rockin' tunes.

Love Joan Jett. After seeing the Hyundai commercial where they play Wild Child, revived my interest in this CD.

Many wonderful vintage performances are captured here that should delight any Joan Jett fan

Despite appearing to be a bit of an unnecessary item because it's demos, out takes, live and other rare tracks it's actually one of Joan's top three or four releases. A definite must. HRS
