Very nice food item, and can be directly cooked, without using pressure cooker. We can prepare umpa, gruel, bisibelebath, pongal etc. using these grains.

it would be better if they were Russian

Too much roasted, after boiling it became like paste. Taste is not good.

I actually bought this item at 1 am in the morning thinking it was buckwheat "tea" apparently this one is not entirely waht I was looking for . Nevertheless my dad really enjoyed eating it so y'all can go buy some .;-)

I read many reviews which state that this buckwheat doesnt cook like Russian buckwheat. That's true. And the flavor is a bit more earthy.However, we discovered the trick to have fluffy, separated buckwheat kernels instead of sludge. Roast them while stirring on low heat for an extra 5 minutes. That kind of fixes the flavor.And then add boiling water. 2.5 cups water for 1 cup of buckwheat.Good Luck.

Over roasted. But still the only substitute for Russian Kasha /grichka available in India. The Russian Grichka/Kasha is popular breakfast in the Russian Federation known for the health benefits.The product needs careful cooking as it is made within few minutes of cooking( being already over roasted ) . However can be prepared perfectly as per recipe for preparing the Russian Kasha, available on google.When prepared perfectly , is very tasty and a great substitute for Morning Breakfast ( grains)Hence strongly recommended to purchase the product from the company.
