If you know why you need a DCAN cable, this product is for you. If you have a car and you want to connect it to a computer, and you know nothing much else, this isn't yet the item for you. It's not designed to be a consumer grade end product or 'plug & play'.The software on the disk, depending on your specific hardware/OS setup either be difficult to setup and/or not function after a successful install. I've got a history as a software dev so whilst it presented no problem for me, mileage will vary wildly. The CD however is mostly redundant as more recent version can be located for free (Bimmer... find out yourself!)There is no telephone number or forum for people to post endless questions varying from actual issues, to 'plz help my PC no work in bathroom', etc. etc. Even if you get everything working, depending on what you want to do, you'll either need to know German, or know how to get around that (also a YouTube video).Bought this cable because the gimmicky blue shows they put some thought into it and came up with a decent quality shielded cable that's put together well.

Great cable for use with INPA
If you already have the software then this cable is exactly what you need for INPA. Works well - Used it numerous times for bleeding the brakes via the ABS Pump Cycle. IT does require a bit of messing around with settings and drivers. But its something that with a bit of research is easily sorted. No need to solder pins together either. Worked first time. (Used on Mini R50 / R52 / R53 Series cars).

Virus on supplied CD
The hardware works but it's unacceptable to supply a CD with a Tojan Horse virus on it. Hence minimum star rating

Received this cable and within 5 minutes had reset the airbag light on my e92, I can’t comment on the included software as I didn’t need it because I already had Ista and Inpa from a previous installation.Would recommend

it really does work. but PAY ATTENTION
excelent product. it is a bit tricky to initially set up, it is not a out of the box product and you need to do a few setup procedures. i really reccomend watching youtube videos to help with setup. once setup correctly it works a dream. I recommend using ISTA+ its a lot easier to get your head around the software. you can get ISTA-D or ISATA-P,get ISTA-D(diagnostic) inless you know what your doing as ISTA-P is for re-programming parts of your bmw

Does the job!
Bit expensive but the cable works as stated on both K and D Can modes. Switch works well. Compatible with INPA, Ediabas, Tool32, NCSExpert, NCSDummy ,etc. and ISTA+

worked 15minutes, then it failed.
It worked for 15 minutes, den it died. I tried to make amazon just send me a new one or get a refund. Na. Amazon just stalls the process and wants me to get to the postoffice for return the broken one. I don't bother. Ebay makes this process works much better.

Funciona perfecto con mi bmw E60
Tengo que decir que yo nunca había hecho nada de coding fuera del Carly (una interfaz obdII que vale un dinero y vale para un poco de todo incluido coding de ALGUNAS cosas)Por lo que me ha traído sus dolores de cabeza así que os voy a detallar algunas cosas que os van a ser de mucha utilidad a la hora de usar el cable y los programas que hay que usar (yo no he usado los programas del disco por lo que no se que es lo que trae):-En primer lugar el Switch que trae lo que hace es puentear los pines 7 y 8, así que para la serie E de BMW del 2008 hacia atrás el switch tiene que estar a la derecha (que haya continuidad entre los pines) y con el switch a la izquierda (con los pines sin puentear) es para los de 2008 en adelante, serie F (Todo esto se puede comprobar con un tester en modo continuidad)-En segundo lugar necesitamos el programa, en mi caso lo he buscado por youtube de un chico que explica muy bien como instalarlo y configurarlo todo (como no se si se puede dejar enlaces aquí os dejo su nombre) el chico se hace llamar Von Roben en youtube y su video "Cómo DESCARGAR e INSTALAR INPA, NCS Expert y otros programas FÁCILMENTE (Paso a Paso) #1"Con esto debería ser suficiente para la instalación y configuración-En tercer lugar aconsejo ver de su mismo canal el video de "NCS Expert y NCS Dummy | Lo BÁSICO que DEBES SABER💯 #3" para aprender como usarlos por que la primera vez es un poco lioso-Por ultimo lugar un apunte muy importante!!!Mientras estéis usando NCS Expert y NCS dummy NO SE PUEDE TENER ABIERTO EL INPA, sino, al intentar poner el chassis del coche en el NCS Expert nos dará error por VIN no valido (esto me ha traído de cabeza y no sabía por que pasaba)Espero que esta opinión/consejos os hayan sido de utilidad, un saludo a todos!

Worked with BMW INPA
This cable worked fine with BMW INPA. I did not use the software on the CD, I already have the software installed (I advise anyone to use an online guide via forums to set up INPA as it is not quick or obvious). Don't expect it to work out of the box, research and time is required. When it is working, it is great. I have reset airbag light, found a fault with my glowplugs i did not know about and registered a new battery.
