Rust-Oleum243870 Spray Oil-Based Stain + Poly, Dark Walnut, 12 Ounce

I was given an old antique five shelf stand that had age stains and the paint was chipped and worn here and there. I used sand paper to clean away the chipped edges and then I used this spray stain which gave my shelf a beautiful finished look. I was able to place the shelf on newspaper in the middle of my living room and sprayed it at least twice before getting the look I wanted. No strong fumes even though I had 2 fans blowing and my floor fan actually helped to dry it quickly. Also, there was not a lot of the stain on the newspaper. I was really impressed even after one coat and even more impressed at how quickly it dried...I thought I would have to leave it overnight for drying but I was able to use it after a couple of hours. It made my shelf look new...I couldn't stop looking at it because the finish leaves a beautiful shine. Highly recommended.

I have actually never wrote an Amazon review. And I should’ve listened to the reviews on this product. It does not spray at all, totally defective. Very disappointing, zero stars. Cannot get your money back through Amazon. I didn’t even get one spray out of this canister. Not one spray. You can feel and hear the product in the canister, but there’s a totally defective spray cap/doesn’t spray. The package was totally handled with care, they packed it well, and was not damaged in transport. Purely a very poor design just got it today and disappointed!!! Amazon made me pick one star just so I could leave this review, however, this is zero stars.

This is a much better way to apply strain. The results surprised me. Will use again.

Haven’t used it yet, but one of two cans did not have a cap on it and it clearly sprayed the inside of the box en route. The cap did not fall off in the box, there was no cap.

I used this to stain 3 ikea spice racks. It didn’t come out as dark as I’d hoped for “walnut” so I ended up doing 3 coats and sanding with steel wool in between. Some areas ended up a little splotchy or drippy but I’m not an experienced stainer so it could have been user error. Overall I found the product easy to use. I did not have any issues with the spray nozzle as other commenters have mentioned.

I sprayed about three seconds when the nozzle clogged. Because I bought two cans, I gtried the other one. In about five seconds, it too clogged. What little spray came out was disappointing in that it was ligjhter in color than advertised. Yes, I shook both cans for a good minute before using. I will set both in a sunny window to raise the temperature and try again tomorrow. Bummer.

I gave it a 2 (being kind) but likely should be a 1! The 2 cause the spray head issue may have caused the the product problem. This isclearly a quality issue so moved 1 point just in case. But overall a poor product. Should have looked at other reviews indicating that it really isn't ready for prime time. Was very disappointed because I was expecting betterWhen I tried to use it, nothing came out. Luckily I had an old Rustoleum spray head that was exactly the same configuration. Cleaned it, installed it and it finally sprayed. The one that came on the can was obviously bad.The spray does not come out in a consistent pattern and assume because it has the polyurethane in it as well. Made things sticky and clogs spray head. Pattern was very inconsistent and quite messy. As one reviewer said, do not get close and does require multiple applications to get desired color.Do not recommend this product. I have noticed a steady decline in their products over the last few years. I bought regular liquid stain and finished my project.

Very Good for do it yourself projects,yes even I had problem with the nozzle but I changed it with other nozzle received with 3M wood working 20 spary.

I bought 2 cans some 15 days back, and when I wanted to use it, for the first time, the paint spray nozzle just didn't work. We shook the can for almost an hour for about a minute each, the balls inside wear making a lot of noise, but the spray was jammed in both the cans. I would like to return this product as I haven't used it - but there seems to be no option for that!

Nozzle was clogged when delivered. Replacement dispatched by seller. However, the same got clogged after use
