This unit works well when plugged in to a car cigarrett lighter. However, it does NOT work when plugged into an a/c adapter fitted with a cigarett lighter receptacle. I had imagined that since I already had the aforementioned a/c adapter I would be able to use this charger both at home and in the car, but there is a small tag on the unit which says it should only should be connected to an automobile cigarette lighter receptacle powered through the car's 12 volt battery. I amagine this has something to do with the "quality" of the dc current provided though the a/c adapters.Not a big deal, but I don't believe this detail was spelled out anywhere in the product listing.However, it IS an excellent unit when used in the car, and I imagine I belong to a very small minority of buyers who wanted to use it both at home and in the car.

Both the laptop plug and the 12v car plug fit properly as you would hope for. Soft blue light on charger gives feedback that it's plugged in and powered. Laptop charged from 57% to 61% in about 3-4 minutes while I did a quick email check, so I'm very happy with this.Would recommend for anyone needing to work from their vehicle.

The media could not be loaded.  Sadly this thing is not charging my computer in the car as it claims. I provided a video to show exactly what it does. I’ll plug it in, then it’ll show its changing. Then it will immediately show its not changing, then it will revert to charging. Finally, after a few seconds, it returns to not changing. No matter what I do, like reinsert the plug to the car or computer, that is all that will happen. I received the product today.

The charger works well, BUT the fuse assembly connected to the cigarette lighter plugin is poorly engineered. It took only about 1/2 day of use before the charger quit working due to plugging the unit in and out into a cigarette lighter receptacle. The fuse actually broke because in the manufacturers infinite wisdom they soldered the fuse to the end pin and the positive lead wire inside the plugin therefore it was impossible to replace and any movement of the end pin put excessive pressure on the fuse therefore it broke. After replacing the plugin it seems to work well and I have noticed the power adapter does not over heat and my laptop charges just fine.Just be aware that the plugin is of poor design, other than that I will recommend it.

Runs hot but does a good job for Acer Aspire F15. It will only past about a year. Not great for extended or heavy use.

I admit, as a 30 year old woman I still get bored in the car! So, when we have to make the occasional trip to the other side of the state to see family or friends, it's nice to take my laptop with me so I can watch movies or play a game! The cord is long enough that we were able to plug into the adapter near the dashboard and it reach into the backseat of our Mitsubishi Outlander with cord length to spare!

Bought this to provide power for my Acer Aspire One AO722-0022 Netbook computerwhen traveling. Compact, quiet and cool and provides plenty of power - in other words, perfect. High quality construction, from the 12V adapter to the netbook power plug, which fits firmly and reliably (frequently a weak point in many aftermarket power supplies). As a bonus, much smaller than the Acer 120V charger that came with the netbook. And at Amazon pricing, a great deal!
