brilliant
it is not like the film but it is just as good.It would be hard to understand if you don't know all the different weapon names but if you do then it is great.

It is as good as the film....................
Having seen the film on numerous occasions and enjoyed it each and everytime,I thought that I would try the book,I doubted that it could be as good as the film and I was completely wrong it is brilliant. My 19 year old son told me he had read it whilst at school and he said it was a great read, there are one or two differences between the film and the book but it in no way spoils it,any fan of the film should try to get hold of a copy of the book and try it.

An account of the film..l
This is a well written book which follows the well set out story as told by Steven Spielberg. As a piece of writing it is exceedingly good, the problem lies in the characters, none are fleshed out, details of age and where they are from is not enough, to care about characters you have to KNOW them, therefore no-one cares about what happens to these guys, they are all very two dimensional. However the technical detail, the impact of battle cannot be faulted, but by the end I just wondered if I cared, I didn't!If you want to have a written version of the film OK, if you want a good book... I'd recommend you saved your money and rented the film.
