Very cool idea for a mug
I was one of the original supporters of this product when it was on Kickstarter. I was a little disappointed when it was not funded. But luckily the creator has decided to still pursue this idea and put it up for sale on Amazon.I just got my mugs yesterday and am drinking some tea with them now. It is working really well. Give it a few spins and your tea is well mixed up. The mugs look nice and are really indistinguishable from normal mugs when they are full. They are a great story and conversation starter because they will draw some interesting looks when you give your mug a few twists. I am sure the glass ones will be great for cocktails so that the liquor does not separate while you are consuming the beverage. My minor complaints about the product and why I took away one star was because of a couple factors. Most importantly for me is that because of the fins in the mug, they take up some space. Because of this a standard mug is turned into a smaller 10oz mug. This is fine if you like your small drinks. I prefer large cups of tea so I would have really loved to see a true 16oz mug option. The second issue is that it takes a few more spins of the cup than I had anticipated. In the videos online it looks like with just two spins you can get a well mixed drink. For me it takes about 5 or so spins. This is partly due to the fact that I do not want to spill hot liquid if I spin it quickly.I am very happy with my purchase. This is a cool product and I will surely get the glass cocktail glasses when they come out.

Don't throw away your stirrer just yet
On the packaging for this mug, it says the creator wanted to create a world in which we no longer needed spoons/fingers/chop sticks for stirring. Sadly he has not delivered us into that world. Spinning this thing doesn't really create enough of a vortex to mix anything really, just slightly agitate what you're drinking. I bought this mug hoping I would be able to spin and drink my tea but no such luck. I dropped in my sugar, dropped in my honey, spun and spun but yet and still my additives sat at the bottom. But at the end of the day, its a sturdy mug that should last for years, so it's not totally terrible, but the entire marketing and promise of this product is a lie

Just an inconvenient messy mug
This mug does not โstirโ anything. Upon receiving this product I was nothing but excited to add some convenience and cut waste to my daily coffee routine but was let down completely. The โSelf-stirring Original Coffee Mugโ does nothing but splash coffee all over the place and causes a mess to clean up and after all this torment the sugar and milk are still at the bottom of the mug! Also once u get down to the last few sips the coffee tends spill out the side of the mug due to the wings inside the cup and run shirts. All around it does not work.

Is not at all what I'd expected to get. ...
Is not at all what I'd expected to get. Has no mechanical motion to it, just fins on the inside that are essentially hunks of ceramic that just take up more coffee space than anything. Don't feel it was even worth the $10. Live and learn, the low ratings are for a reason.

Too small.
The "mug" is very small, more like a tiny coffee cup. Not mug-like at all.Very disappointed overall in this product.

Changed my life
"The truly original self-stirring mug! Just a spin or two and your warm coffee, tea or cocoa will mix by itself without the use of a spoon or batteries."This is truly a godsend. The days of before, when I had to use batteries to stir my cocoa are over. I like my cocoa to be sweet, dangnabbit! I don't like the metallic taste it gets when those batteries get in the mix, specially when they break, and the cocoa ends up tasting more acid than usual (although it's almost unnoticeable if you're mixing yogurt). And don't even get me started to the problems I had when using them to mix baking soda. Plus, I can't remember how many times I swallowed those darn batteries by mistake. Tip: don't use wristwatch batteries, use the bigger, long ones that look like metallic cigars for midgets. The other ones are too prone to be mistaken by pills. But this product works wonders. That being said, it takes a little more than just a spin or two to properly mix your beverage, unless you're mixing liquids. Pro-Tip: don't mix hot coffee and Coke. It doesn't cause any weird reaction, but it doesn't taste as good as you might think, specially if you add garlic salt. Don't do that. This product is also well constructed. It won't break easily, but it's not sturdy enough to use as a mechanical jack, though, specially if your mother-in-law is still inside the car despite the fact you clearly told her to GET THE HELL OUT YOU CRAZY B-, so I advice against it.I have to say, though, there's one small thing that people should be aware of. The cup looks normal size, but due to the small tentacles pasted inside (no doubt a leftover from the creature that was killed to make these) it holds less than a regular cup. So, if you're used to an exact measure that takes up all the space in the cup, you'll end up spilling your cocoa-beer all over your mother-in-law's carpet. Not that it matters much, that carpet is stupid, it doesn't even have Spider-Man on it.
