NICEYRIGQuick Release Base Plate Compatible with Manfrotto 577, 501, 504, 701 for DSLR Camera 15mm Rail Support System

I got this a few days ago and I've take it on and off several times to see how I like it setup with my equipment. There's a video on here slandering about cheap screws but well... that's literally ALL aluminum screws. It's not "cheap" ... STOP torquing THEM TO 90FT LB you won't run into stripping problems. ALL the screws are deep not shallow leaving plenty of grabbing room and they don't fit loose either with the allen key.The product itself is extremely sturdy and I trust it enough with my rig setup that once I clip it in and tighten the lock screw without using the force of hulk, it holds sturdy as ever. Don't let the name fool you, Niceyrig got the most strongest niceybags too i kept them for storage use lol. Those bags are NOT cheap quality and you will know it when you grab it out the package.

So I have a teleprompter that its rails were way lower than what I needed. I mean like 2 inches lower. But a few of these put together did the trick. I bought four of them and use the quick release to move my cameras from tripod to tripod. I have a number of different brands of tripods so none of the heads work together. With this product I am about to put one on each of my tripods and now they all can use the same quick release. Great and easy to use.

This thing is crucial to my shoulder-rig, as it accepts all the Manfrotto pattern plates I have, and facilitates a quick transition from tripod->shoulder->gimbal. But the hole / thread pattern are WEIRD, and don't match up at all with the holes/threads on their own NICEYRIG shoulder pad! (which is a great design too, except for this!) I actually had to use my own 1/4" screws and nylock NUTS, which is patently ridiculous. The nuts are between the shoulder pad's plate and the padding itself, and luckily they are offset just enough that they don't dig straight into my shoulder (I didn't center the QR plate on the shoulder plate, instead pushed it a bit away from my head). But what a bizarre design oversight and an annoying hack to fix it. Minus one star for that.

REALLY well made!! I own two. Small and light enough to mount on my camera cage. Sturdy enough to mount on the tripod as your primary quick release. Because it has a very smooth machined surface. (Rather than the traditional rough manfrotto quick release surfaces.) Plates slide really smooth, and the locking knob/lever tightens much more precisely. Allowing me to work faster. And fiddle about much less with "Is the plate locked?" than on a traditional QR.

Using this to swap different cameras on a pre built rig. Feels sturdy and has zero fitment issues with different brand plates.

The hole positioning and sizes are random and very poorly thought out. It is not possible to secure this mount with a DJI Ronin gimbal due to the lack of intelligent hole positioning and sizing. If you need a quick release for a gimbal, use any other brand.

I am using these for my camera rig and gimbal mounts. These allow me to quicky mount my cameras with different setups without having to rebalance! Got 3 of them!
