DIY or find it cheaper - this is JUNK
I bought many, many of these to change out my old plates with throughout the common areas of my home. They sold me on the insulation portion since my home is 70 years old. I had looked at how-to articles about adding a piece of insulating foam to switch plates and outlet covers but became convinced that making that myself wouldn’t be as safe as buying something specifically made for covers. I also misunderstood and had believed that the foam pieces for these covers were adhered safely and securely to the covers themselves. They’re just junky though. So, the foam is very thin and extremely similar to egg carton styrofoam. Maybe not quite as stiff but close enough. The punched out parts (for the screw holes, toggles, and outlets) weren’t even punched out fully so I had to finish that and collect little bits of foam pieces before installation. Really a silly, messy hassle that should’ve been done at this price point. The foam is not adhered to the faceplates. I had thought it’d be a good idea if they were so there wouldn’t be the risk of later removing the plate for electrical work and it falling out (and accidentally being thrown away). Now, I guess it works out alright since I’ll have to shop for better plates anyway. The worst thing is that the covers themselves are thin and plastic too, just like the cheap $.97 ones that I had. They will bend inward a little if you tighten the screws. Unfortunately, there are a few places that I really needed to tighten the screws further in to have the cover edges touch the wall. Which looks worse: a light switch plate that’s strangely hovering away from the wall it should be screwed flush onto or a light switch plate that’s noticeably caving inward from the pressure of the screws? Yeah, I don’t know either. In the end, I’d say these are not at all worth $10+. I’d say they’re worth more like $2-$3. $5 would be asking too much. I can’t imagine justifying the current price based on the foam piece, the design, or the materials. They’re not ugly. They’re not dressed up though. If they bend inward then they look tacky and super cheap.I wouldn’t recommend these at this price.

These wall plates are awesome, they are well made and quite attractive
These wall plates are awesome, they are well made and quite attractive. I installed them in my recent basement renovation. What makes these especially nice is that they have a foam gasket that serves to block the annoying draft that always seems to come from exterior and basement wall outlets. I purchased all the inventory that my local retailer had in stock but needed one more (a 3 switch wall plate) but it was only available online. Ordered it and it was promptly delivered. I don’t have a bad thing to say about this product, just an observation. All of my other plated are light grey but this cove didn’t seem to be available in that color, so I had to order white. As it happens to be in the bathroom, and not visible from the other area, I just used all white in that room. They were a nice finishing touch to a major project.

Quality product , made in the USA.
We are fixing up the house to put it in the market . Little cosmetic touches can go a long way . I purchased several of these to replace old plates . I thought the best way to review this product was to show a before and after . As you can see from the photos, the old plate barely covered the opening and was definitely not energy efficient. I’m sure some folks would say these are too expensive, but clearly, you get what you pay for . And , did I mention they are insulated?

Outstanding wall plates that work !
I have tiles on the kitchen walls with groves in them and it has been hard to find a wall plates to fit snugly against the tiles. The switch and the outlet plates got fit everything very well and the sand color is just right.

Nice looking insulated switch cover
I purchased this switch plate/wall plate cover after I tried to paint our old one and the paint didn’t work out very well. This one has the nice little decorative accent around the edge which gives it a nice decorator touch. It’s foam insulated and I installed it myself so I know it’s easy to install. I like the way it looks on the wall.

Note Worthy
Both of my teenage daughters noticed that I replaced the bathroom light switch cover. In addition to energy savings components and antimicrobial properties, it It just feels nice. It’s bigger and thicker than my previous cover, but it doesn’t look bulky and clunky. It’s aesthetically pleasing. It’s the Chanel of covers.I recommend wiping down the switches with a Mr. Clean eraser prior to installing the new covers. The only down side is that I stripped the paint inside the nails.Overall, I ended up ordering a new insulated cover for every light switch and outlet in my home.

Very pleased , but....
Very nice and good looking...and super fast delivery.Update: Not exactly sure the difference the padding should make, but I did not use it. It made getting the plate closer to the wallA little difficult. I find the metal plates a little easier when it comes to a nice fit against the wall. My opinion.

These work perfectly in the bedroom - I like the slight texture of sand
These work perfectly in the bedroom - I like the slight texture of sand, and these look nicer than the typical ones in the local hardware store.
