Boneo Canine Maintenance Formula- Lactoferrin-Based Bone and Joint Supplement for Dogs- 90 Ct Chewable Tablets, Liver and Sausage Flavor

I'm an M.D. and my giant breed broke a weight bearing toe. I was having a terrible time with her healing. Due to her broken toe pain and discomfort she lost 15 lbs within 4 days. The vet, took an xray and confirmed the diagnosis, and then splinted poorly on a 100lb giant breed puppy. Vet's splint broke, didn't last 8hrs; it was cheap plastic and broke. I changed the splint often (every 2-3 days), despite this she had sores. I then reduced the splint just past her wrist. I made a reinforced splint out of poster cardboard containers/mailers. I split down middle with EMT shears and put that over the soft casting, making sure to put cotton in between her toes to prevent moisture accumulation, and added dry medicated foot powder. Then covered with another layer of soft casting, then the flexible, stick to itself bandage. It worked better, but she still managed to have it slip or have it off entirely. Having her not eat properly, break on a weight bearing toe was difficult and of course the splint on this massive breed were issues, that is until I got desperate (I also purchase her a massager, as vibration was purported to help stimulate bone remodeling and walked her on leash, until she would just refuse to move (~ half a city block.) I added probiotics to help her eat. Still too much pain. I took off a week of work (I do love this dog) and hand fed her every 4 hours. Still not much improvement, then I found Boneo, after three days it was a quick turn around. She was eating, putting back on 15 lbs of weight in one week, she was walking on her half cast, the open sores healed, and she was even trying to run after squirrels and her old personality came out. She was even jumping, on her very sturdy splint that kept her foot from touches no the ground, this was the third week after she broke her toe. I have to say this supplement really turned her around. She ran up and down stairs and jumped on and off a 25" high bed. I've since had to add 1mg/per lb of body weight, 3 x per day of benadryl to calm her down. She is sleeping better and healed nicely. I was surprised, but desperate to get my $$$ show dog back to her old self. This was a wise investment. In one week, there was significant turn around!!! Fast forward 4/20/23, 6 years later, I had another Black Russian Terrier 100lbs break the right rear 3rd metatarsal. I still had all of my splinting materials from way back when, so I immediately ordered Boneo and it came the next day. I gave the dosage at rx strength. Did so well was walking on the splint. This was an elderly dog on Carprofen (NSAID) for age related arthritis, but due to risk of ulcers would get as needed,. Thus, for pain I gave with every meal (twice daily for pain) the 100mg carprofen, also gave melatonin to keep the dog calm and induce restful sleep essential to healing, I also fed raw chicken wings 1-2 every meal and those minerals and boneo, were so very impressive. Expecting 12 weeks full recover and we are on week 6, I could not be more impressed with this OTC product. Dog was running on the splint/brace after 9 days. Fast forward 10/5/2024 same elderly dog broke right different toe for the third time. Was on a new pressure cooked chicken diet. Did so well with the bone broth he was running around barking like a guard dog at the fence line and must have turned to abruptly. He’s back in the brace, will get some Benadryl or melatonin to stay calm and heal along with this tried and true supplement, He is turning 11 this week and with giant breed dogs if they can’t walk go up and down stairs and potty on their own, this has real life complications. Unlike a small dog that can be carried, not being able to walk on a giant could be a death sentence. I am not anxious because boneo has worked the previous three times used. This fourth time on an elderly dog; I’m still quite optimistic.

My small dog recently had surgery for a broken leg. At her follow up, she was not healing well. I ordered this bone supplement. In six weeks, she had enough new bone growth that she was taken off restrictions. I started my other dog on it too because my veterinarian at a large university research facility told me it was a good product!

I have an 18 year old rescue dog with very few teeth. He doesn’t chew much, just pretty much gulps. So, bad breath. Very bad. He also has a serious heart murmur, so I cannot have his teeth cleaned. Well, because I read an article that lactoferrin was great for cleaning teeth, I thought I’d try these. He usually bites two or three times, then swallows the tablet down. I’m not sure how much cleaner his teeth are as we have only been using this for three weeks, but his bad breath is GONE! Hurray!

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this yet because of all things I buy on Amazon, this is definitely the most deserving! So I adopted a little 8-week old heeler pup about 5 months ago. After having him for only two weeks, he managed to get up on the stairs and hop off the third step. Now normally this wouldn't be a big deal but seeing as he was such a little guy, he landed funny and fracture his leg with a slight displacement. The animal hospital I took him to immediately insisted on surgery that would cost me 2.5k to 3.5k just for the procedure. Not being able to afford that cost immediately, I spoke to my vet about other options until I have that money put together. She said we could wait with 4 weeks of splinting and then take another x-ray to see how far his healing has progressed. She did warn me that because it was displaced, he would most likely still need surgery or would at the very least need 6 more weeks of healing after the x-ray. Well, being desperate to find some kind of way to help him heal better and properly, I come across Boneo. I was a little skeptical of all the reviews because it sounded too good to be true but still gave it a go. Come the 4 weeks after for his x-ray, our vet and myself was shocked that he was completely healed with no sign of the displacement and would not need anymore weeks of splinting!! She did note that puppies heal very well but was still shocked at the rate and how well he healed. I would easily recommend this product to anyone with a dog, whether it be just as a supplement or to help in healing any bone-related injury.

This item SOUNDS great. My dog recently had an accident and broke her inside toe on her left front paw. I do mean snapped it, bone protruding, nasty. Ended up having surgery. I started giving her Boneo thinking it may help with the healing process. This product does STINK! And not a smell that even dogs like. It's very chalky as well. My dog HATES it. I have to hide it in some thick lunch meat to get her to take it, and that doesn't even always work! It has been about 5 weeks since the accident and since I started her on Boneo. Her injury has healed very well! But I can't really say that it is because of this supplement. Maybe it is, or maybe it's not. It may have healed this well without it. IDK. But it makes ME feel better giving it to her lol. We are almost through this bottle, and since she is about healed I won't be purchasing another. I might if something were to happen again. Hard to say. I know this is probably not much help, but I can't honestly say it has worked any miracles for us, but it sure didn't hurt anything either. So, I guess I will say it is a good supplement for pet owners peace of mind when they want extra help for their babies, IF they can get their dogs to take it. ;-)

Helped my pup but he didn’t like the taste so they had to be crushed and put in his food.

My 5 year old Boston Terrier had to have surgery for luxating patella on both knees (people ask, so knees are only on the hind legs). Based on the pre-surgery X-rays, the surgeon determined she would need to cut and straighten a bone (can't remember the name of the bone) below the patella on both knees, and put a pin in the bone on each knee to help it heal in the proper position. This required 2 months of keeping our very active pup quiet, crated, confined, etc. Not an easy task, but I thought we did pretty well. After two months, I took our pup back for a follow up appointment which included X-rays to see how the healing was coming along. I was devastated to learn the bone in both knees had not healed as quickly as expected (the patellas, however, looked great). So the surgeon told us we needed to keep her quiet, crated, confined for another 6 weeks! Oh my gosh, by now, my pup thinks she is 100% and doesn't understand why we are keeping her in prison. I immediately started searching for a bone healing supplement, and found Boneo. After six weeks, we took our girl back in for X-rays. Her right knee was 100% healed and the left knee was "almost there." I have no idea if the Boneo helped or if it was just coincidence, but if I had it to do over, I would have started her on Boneo immediately after surgery!

My Standard Poodle Daisy is 11 years old, she will turn 12 on July 4th. A couple of months ago I switched her food from Iams to Pedigree Natural because they had a sale on the Pedigree and I was trying to be conservative with our budget at the time. Well after 2 weeks of feeding Daisy that food, she started sleeping a lot and I noticed that she was falling too much and then her legs started losing muscle. It really worried me so I researched what to do. I found these vitamins and read all the reviews and information on it. I decided I had nothing to lose with giving these to her plus I switched her back to the Iams and I also started cooking her some vegetables to mix with her food everyday and started taking her for walks. First of all, I quickly noticed a difference within a week. She was excited to eat, she loves her Boneo tablets and now her muscle mass has come back. She actually jumps up and down now. Also, I noticed she can get up much easier. She weighs about 48 lbs. so I give her 2 tablets a day. I highly recommend this product.
